Staying at the Guesthouse is a must if you go to Katsuyama and visit the dinosaur museum, especially if you have children, even older ones. The stay enhanced the experience. As other reviews have attested, I confirm the hospitality the owners provided us and went beyond our expectations. Many people will visit the museum as a day trip. However, I highly recommend staying overnight if you are a Japanese national with children or, like me, an international tourist.

From the moment we arrived, he was so warm and welcoming, helped us plan our trip, spent time talking with us, and shared tea while making us feel truly at home. He went out of his way to make sure we were comfortable and treated us like family rather than guests. His house was absolutely wonderful, charming, and thoughtfully cared for, and the town itself was beautiful and peaceful. Staying here was one of the highlights of our trip and made the entire experience feel extra special.

貸切民泊 手寄の宿 JR福井駅東口から徒歩5分 5min 安い is located in Fukui, 3.4 km from Fukui Prefecture Industrial Hall, 16 km from Eiheiji Temple, and 400 metres from Prism Fukui. Very nice guest house in walking distance to the local train station. Everything you could need is there, equipped kitchen and washing machine. Can't ask for anything else!

The ladies who welcomed us was so incredibly sweet; they showed us around and one of them even took us to the local shrine so my kids could enjoy the ice cream I had purchased from their sister store.
