Featuring mountain views and a garden, 馬籠ふるさと学校 Magome Furusato Gakkou offers accommodation attractively situated in Nakatsugawa, within a short distance of Toson Memorial Museum, Magome Wakihonjin... Really nice staff. Two lounges available to chill in, both with free coffee, tea and cocoa. Very unique to sleep in a former school. The place feels very alive with some community events still happening in the school. Capsule style beds were very nice, enough space to stall out your gear and even has a little locker for valuables in the capsules.

Very close to the JR station and Nohi bus station where you can catch the buses to day trip to Shirakawa~go and visit sub-zero frozen forest at Akigami onsen. The breakfast was delicious with local traditional food including the amazing “koshihikari” rice and continental options. Walking around the old town is also a unique experience where you can find several restaurants that offers the amazing Hida wagyu. The entrance to the women bath in the hotel is protected with security code, giving extra protection and confidence to the female guests. We could enjoy the warm outdoor onsen and the cold snow.

Conveniently situated in the centre of Takayama, HOTEL WOOD TAKAYAMA provides air-conditioned rooms with free WiFi and private parking. Exceptional staff- lovely room and the hotel were thoughtful with an additional sake tasting for guests in the evening. Fantastic Japanese breakfast.

Effective October 1, 2025, a lodging tax will be introduced by ordinance of Takayama City. In addition to the room charge, 100 yen per person per day will be charged. Comfortable stay at the Guesthouse. Welcomed by the staff, smooth check-in and explanation of the facility. Clean and comfortable rooms, kitchen, shower room etc. I actually loved the place very much and would book it for my next trip to Takayama.

The place is absolutely beautiful. By far one of the nicest hotels I've been in. Every detail is well thought of, and the location near Takayama Old city is great.

Nestled in the tranquil Hida Mountains, Miyama Ouan Kyoritsu Resort offers traditional accommodation featuring hot spring baths and nature views. The breakfast & dinner are served in the restaurant with a magnificent view of the surrounding adding a superb experience to the dining. Food is excellent. The private onsen in the Annex is also excellent & we loved to bath in both the private & public onsens. In addition, for non-Japanese speaking tourists, the ability to talk in English is definitely the best among all the hotels/ resorts I have been in Japan.
