The host was proactive and reached out offering to pick up from bus stop. She was very friendly and filled me in with all the necessary info about sado island and also was kind to offer a bowl of persimmon. The bed was very comfortable and i found it difficult to wake up!

The Japanese senior couple managing the pension are genuinely the sweetest people we could have dreamed of. Moomin Papa picked us up at the station at arrival and dropped us off (super early in the morning) after checkout. He drove us and the other guests in the morning to the ski resorts nearby and was also willing to pick us up in the afternoon. He was also great at giving dinner recommendations. The pension is simple and welcoming, breakfast is great and all we needed for a full day on the slopes. The onsen is a bit old but we didn’t mind. If you have very long hair it could take a while to dry with the available hairdryer - just to keep in mind. Rooms are nice and warm and the beds are comfortable. WiFi works well. Overall I would say it was a beautiful stay, the hosts and their care in everything they did made the experience 100 times better. Highly recommend!

Belle Vue Nishiura ligger i Minami Uonuma i Niigata-regionen, 3 minuters promenad från skidorten Ishiuchi-Maruyama. Här erbjuds skidförvaring och möjlighet att åka skidor ända fram till dörren. The hotel is a hidden gem. Mr. Satoshi is kind and helpful. Pick-up service from station is great. We’re lucky that the snow is awesome during our stay.

Maruyama Onsen Kojyokan ligger i Minami Uonuma, 2 km från Maiko Snow Resort. Här erbjuds en terrass och en varm källa. Privat parkering erbjuds utan extra kostnad. WiFi är gratis i alla utrymmen. Staff were extremely kind and helpful. The private onsen was amazing and had a great view. I would definitely stay here again next time I go to Ishiuchi Maruyama Ski Resort.

Yuzawa Grand Hotel is within a 2-minute walk from Echigo Yuzawa Train Station and the Sake Museum. It offers 3 public baths, a massage service and free parking on site. Very nice room, well furnished, on very pretty grounds. We stayed in a three-person Japanese style room, which was set up with two western beds and one futon set on tatami. The hotel provided some sweets that went well with green tea (a tea set is also provided)

Kogakuro ligger i ett fridfullt landskap och erbjuder trevliga rum i japansk stil med gott om dagsljus. Awesome cultural experience, convient to some of the best powder skiing, onsen soak after day of skiing, all staff - from the kindest owner to her Japanese and seasonal team from Australia was so helpful... overall the best!
