Unsui 武雄蓬莱町 雲水 ligger i Takeo Onsen i Takeo, 37 km från Huis Ten Bosch, mindre än 1 km från Takeo-Onsen station och 10 km från Krasnodar hippodrom. We had a lovely time staying in this traditional Japanese style apartment. It is tidy and spacious, has lots of details hidden around the corners. The host was very friendly, responsive and helpful, provided detailed suggestions about placed worth visiting in Takeo and even guided us to see fireflies at night. The day we checkout out of the apartment we forgot backpack on the bus, the host was kind enough to contact the bus company for us right away. This is by far the most pleasant stay we ever had in any country.

続異人館 ZOKU IJINKAN Guest House ligger i Arita, 20 km från Huis Ten Bosch, och erbjuder boende med gratis cyklar, gratis privat parkering och en trädgård. So cool to stay in an old, traditional house, which had everything we needed. Owner was super friendly and even had some free pottery we were welcome to take. (And he had great suggestions for where to eat nearby and even left us some instant ramen to eat, if we got hungry.) The futon heaters were great and definitely needed when a cold wind storm blew in!

AKARIYA Hostel ligger i Karatsu, 5 minuters promenad från Nishinohama strand, och erbjuder boende med en trädgård, privat parkering, en gemensam lounge och en terrass. Suzy is an exceptional host and made me feel at home straight away. So lovely. Also all of her tips for everything around were amazing.

Hotel Imari Aioibashi Bettei ligger i Imari, inom 28 km från Huis Ten Bosch och 19 km från Ling Tung-universitetet. The room was bigger than expected. Also, the location is great

Guest House Maru ligger i Kashima, 47 km från Uhuru-stadion, och erbjuder boende med en trädgård, gratis privat parkering och en bar. I booked a room here as I was traveling to Japan to play a Pokemon Go event in Nagasaki. I had a wonderful time in this house and the charming, little town it is in. It’s like staying in a beautiful, ancestral home of a Japanese family. I actually lowered my expectations for a bit because it’s not a hotel, but even then I was surprised by how well-kept, sparkly clean everything is. I shared the house with 3 other guests who are also in Japan to play Pokemon Go, and yet I didn’t see a single strand of hair left in the bathroom, a smidge of stain in the toilet, and I didn’t hear noise at night. It’s family-run and they do everything by themselves. I was coming in from Fukuoka Airport and it took me a while to figure out the trains and the transfers I would take to get to Kashima and arrived late at 8:30PM, it’s way past check in time but even then I had a warm welcome from the owner, Mr Maru. He showed me where the restaurants are, which places to visit, where the nearest 7-eleven is. He even let me in the staff-only area of the kitchen when he noticed that I brought dinner that I needed to reheat from 7-eleven. In the morning I met his older sister in the kitchen and she made me breakfast. She showed me where Yutoku Inari shrine is which I planned to visit on that day. I rented a bicycle at the Hizen-Hama station which is just like 150 meters from the house and biked around Kashima, ate Mikan ice cream, until I reached Yutoku Inari shrine. It is an amazing place. In the evening when I returned the bike at Hizen-Hama station, I went to its Sake bar which serves all the sake this little town produces and I was warmly welcomed even though I don’t speak a word of Nihongo. I tried all the types of sake that they have as I knew I can get smashed and still find my way home because the house is just a stone’s throw away from the station. Overall I had a pretty amazing experience and would gladly visit again.

Karatsu Seaside Hotel erbjuder boende i Higashi Karatsu. Här finns även en restaurang. Alla rum har luftkonditionering och platt-TV. The best customer service during my whole stay in Kyushu. Inoue-Sama In the reception was truly helpful, and took his time to make me feel comfortable. It is not common to receive service in English in Kyushu, but the Karatsu seaside hotel surpised me positively. A big recommendation for the breakfast hand made Onigiris with your preferences. The room with the ocean view was excellent and I truly felt like a high end traveller. This was my first destination after flying from europe, sot he Onsen (spa) that included in the room price was super relaxing. I visited there on both of my stays. The small details makes this one of the best hotels I have been. Complimentary cake service, ice cream at the Onsen area. Coupon for the souvenir and snack shop, bicycles, the breakfast that you could enjoy for days and still not be able to taste everything... I wish I could come here again.

Keramiek Arita ligger i Arita, 20 km från Huis Ten Bosch, och erbjuder boende med en gemensam lounge, gratis privat parkering och en terrass. Best bed I’ve slept in this holiday. I’ve had a fair amount of insomnia on this trip but in Arita I slept great. Hanneke is a great host, so fun and warm, and even took us to the train station in the morning with our luggage. The house is clean and well decorated. She’s kept some of the fun old bits of the house and updated what needed to be updated. The house and our room felt friendly and cosy. Hanneke was out when we checked in but she left us a detailed note which made it easy for us to get comfortable and find a good lunch spot close by. We had a really great stay and felt right at home.

Hamilton Ureshino ligger i Ureshino, 29 km från Huis Ten Bosch, och erbjuder boende med en trädgård, gratis privat parkering, en restaurang och en bar. I liked the room with the view of the mountains and how peaceful it was . The room was clean . The staff is professional and helpful . The breakfast was good too . Complimentary drinks in the fridge very very appreciated.

Room view matches the photos perfectly. The meal quality exceeded expectations, delivering a delightful surprise. The accommodation l stayed at featured private hot springs, so even without venturing outside the inn, l could relax right there!
