Located in Nikko, 18 km from Tobu Nikko Station, K's House Nikko - Kinugawa Onsen Hostel provides accommodation with a shared lounge, free private parking and a terrace. K's house hostels have been exceptionally incredible through my travels in Japan. This one being the best I've had the pleasure of staying in. The cleanliness is equivalent to some of the fanciest hotels out there, I can't overstate how comfy the common areas and rooms are. The onsen is great, although not very large. I picked the cheapest room option, and I was pleasantly surprised to find a massive room with wall sized view right into the forest, comfortable bunk beds with excellent ventilation.

Located in a quiet area 2km from town center. Shuttle bus runs regularly during business hours. Good kitchen and lounge area with a small self service shop to buy basic food for breakfast or lunch. Fantastic Waygyu restaurant 500m up the road, expensive but worth a splurge

Homely rooms with mountain views, free Wi-Fi and a private bath await guests at Villa Revage, 350 metres from Nikko Botanical Garden. A beautiful lodge to stay in. The star is the onsen - there are 2 onsen rooms in a separate building outside with a maple tree on the walk out. There is a clever light system that allows you to know when the onsens are in use by other guests - plenty of time to be able to use. The onsen rooms are beautifully built and were such a delight to use - there was a private outside space for one of them as well. As the onsens are private, it is fine for people with tattoos to use. There is a large communal area where you have breakfast and can also relax and prepare other meals. Hot and cold water available as well as microwaves and toaster for preparing meals. There is a lovely children's play area as well. Breakfast is served in the morning with a choice of different pastries and drinks that you order the night before. The owner is very accommodating and friendly. Good location - 10 minutes by bus from Tobu Nikko station, 5 minutes by bus to the shrines, temples and Shinyko bridge, 5 minute walk to Daiyu river and about 30-40 minutes by bus to Lake Chuzenji. The beds were comfortable and there was good amount of space for storage in the rooms. Table, chairs and TV in each room.

Offering mountain views, Rakuten STAY VILLA Kinugawa Riverside is an accommodation set in Nikko, 18 km from Tobu Nikko Station and 19 km from Nikko Station. The house is very modern with every amenities thought possible and more for a short stay. The kitchen was well stocked, and the onsen was incredible. Location is easy access for someone with a car.

Set in Nikko, COZY Inn Free Shuttle service is a recently renovated accommodation, 12 km from Tobu Nikko Station and 14 km from Nikko Toshogu Shrine. A traditional home situated in a beautiful, quiet neighborhood about 10 minutes away from train station. There’s a communal kitchen and living room for use as well as a private onsen that you can reserve. Hiro, the host, is very accommodating and will provide rides when needed. His English is really good and his sense of humour even better. His knowledge of the area and itinerary suggestions worked very well for us. We’d highly recommend the local izakaya 800m from his place.

1.3 km from Tobu Nikko Station in Nikko, Rakuten STAY VILLA Nikko features accommodation with access to a sauna and hot spring bath. This was an amazing place and perhaps the highlight of our whole 3 weeks in Japan. We had a villa for four and it was amazing. The private Onsen and sauna really was the icing on the cake. The villa was well equipped, spacious and modern. There were so many high-tech gadgets I didn't really know what some of them were! The welcome drinks in the fridge were especially kind. There is a bus just before the 10:00 a.m. checkout time down to the station in Nikko which was great. Location a little bit out of town but that didn't bother us and it was a nice 15-minute walk.

7.7 km from Nikko Station, Guesthouse Imaichi ゲストハウス今市マチナカ is a recently renovated property set in Nikko and offers air-conditioned rooms with free WiFi and private parking. Nice place not far from the station. The owner was really nice.

Located in Nikko, 800 metres from Nikko Toshogu Shrine, Nikko Nishimachi Club provides accommodation with a terrace, free private parking and a restaurant. The location is perfect for a couple of nights in Nikko. The staff are nice and helpful, and the room was great and spacious.

Situated in Nikko, 1 km from Nikko Toshogu Shrine, Shinkyo Inn features accommodation with a terrace, free private parking, a restaurant and a bar. Everything, it’s a fantastic small family run hotel . Mark, the English owner and his Japanese wife were so helpful and welcoming. The food at dinner was great, the English -Japanese breakfast amazing sitting on the terrace overlooking the river, the room was very nice and big and clean, bathroom was great. Location perfect just by the Shinkyo bridge. Everything was absolutely amazing.

Situated in Nikko in the Tochigi region, with Tobu Nikko Station and Nikko Station nearby, Nikko Cottage Yurt features accommodation with free WiFi and free private parking. It is definitely not a yurt and more of a cottage, but as attractive as the pictures show. When the big doors open, the picture windows look at the mountains. The construction uses natural shape of wood. All the facilities are new, modern, and quite clean. Our hostess picked us up from the train station and gave us a quick tour of town before dropping us off and making sure we knew how everything worked. She left us some gorgeous pastries. Communication prior to arrival and after was excellent. It was pouring rain on the morning of our departure and we were provided a ride to the station! Exceptional accommodations and service.
