Dormy Inn Aomori Natural Hot Spring ligger i Aomori, 6 km från Sannai-Maruyama site och 43 km från Tsuta onsen. We loved our stay here. Location is great, an easy walk from the train station, and lots of food options around. (We loved Nonohana (ののはな), an izakaya just around the corner. We sat at the bar and had a great time chatting with some of the regulars - the food here is delicious and very affordable.) The hotel has an awesome natural hot spring, including an open air one, so I bathed while watching the snow fall - it was pretty magical. Then they offer free ice creams, a manga library, and free massage chairs - it doesn't get much better. The buffet breakfast was expensive but we had a lot of fun trying different dishes - this is a great way to try the famous Aomori apple if you're in a rush. We had apple juice, apple pie and apple jelly!

Daiwa Roynet Hotel Yamagata Ekimae ligger i Yamagata, 17 km från Zao Hotsprings skidort, och erbjuder boende med ett fitnesscenter, privat parkering och massagebehandlingar. Good size room for 3 of us, clean place with laundry room as well, great location in front of the station!

Fint rum med härlig utsikt, från övre planen, med bra faciliteter i rummet. Läget är precis vid huvudstationen vilket underlättade ankomst, utresor och vidareresa. Att se vissa av stadens sevärdheter kan man precis utanför hotellet stiga på en Hop on - Hop off buss, vilket vi gjorde och gillade. Härlig Japansk frukost med bra variation.

会津七日町inn ligger i Aizuwakamatsu, 17 minuters promenad från Aizu-Wakamatsu station och 4,2 km från Mount Iimori. It was a lovely hostel. The staff were very friendly and the facilities were kept very clean. Train and bus stations within a few minutes of walking.

かぐら庵 ligger i Kitakata, 20 km från Aizu-Wakamatsu station, 22 km från Mount Iimori och 38 km från Bandai berg. The inn had everything you would need, washing machine, bug spray etc. The owner was really nice and had an english instruction manual with nearby attractions. The lights could dim and turn all off or all on with one switch.

HOTEL ZEN-Adult Only ligger i Hirosaki, 45 km från Sannai-Maruyama site, och erbjuder boende med gratis WiFi och gratis privat parkering. Comfortable, private and the owner was really nice

Bridge33 CAFE AND HOSTEL ligger i Takagi, 11 km från Shiogama Shrine, och har luftkonditionerade rum och en bar. Very nice people, clean facilities, cute bar downstairs, with spacious rooms and delicious breakfast (paid). It was a very enjoyable experience. Please do mind that most activity plays at the other part of Matsushima, which is about half an hour walking.

みんなの実家門脇家 ligger i Akita, 10 km från Akita station, och erbjuder boende med en trädgård, gratis privat parkering, en gemensam lounge och ski-in/ski-out. Its a nice, calm corner in the outskirts of town. perfect for getting away from the big city. The owner and his family are more than friendly and accomodating, would recommend.
