El Saizenin está situado en la zona sagrada de Koyasan, y ofrece alojamiento sencillo, rodeado de montañas y de varios templos. I’m not sure if I can sum up the experience in a few words but here we go: if you are looking to live an authentic experience at Koyasan, Saizenin is without a doubt the best place to do so. For starters, the monks and staff were so friendly and helpful, explaining each step or indication carefully. The person at the front desk spoke amazing English and even German! The rooms are so comfortable and big for Japan size of course. Ours overlooked a small garden and the entrance. One of the things I loved the most was the location, right in front of the temple complex. The food was delicious and had us saying “wow” with each bite. Also, don’t pass on the opportunity to bathe in the classic onsen, so clean and so worth it! I would come back a million times and I would recommend it to everyone I know.

Pension Sora está en Nachikatsuura, a 18 min a pie de Playa de Nachi, y dispone de alojamiento con jardín, parking privado gratis y salón de uso común. One of my best hostel stays during a 6 month solo tour. The hosts spoke perfect english and were so welcoming. I even left behind my phone charger and they were kind enough to mail it to my next location. They also drove me to the train station the following morning. No to mention the views from the house are spectacular. I really can't recommend this place enough.

Comfort Hotel Kii Tanabe, que está a 17 min a pie de Playa de Tanabe Ogigahama y a 600 metros de Tokei Shrine, ofrece habitaciones con aire acondicionado y baño privado en Tanabe. The hotel was a convenient distance from the station. It was clean and staff were welcoming. Way better than Comfort Inns in Canada. Check-in and check-out was smooth, breakfast was great. Rooms were clean and well laid out.

Unique old style house but very comfortable with just the right amount of modern conviences (heaters, well stocked kitchen, comfortable futons). House was beautiful. Great location, only steps away from Hayatama Taisha and a 15 min walk to Kamakura shrine. Also, host was very welcoming and helpful.

NONAGASE GUEST HOUSE está en Chikatsuyu, a 3 min a pie de Kumanokodo Nakahechi Museum of Art, y dispone de alojamiento con jardín, parking privado gratis, restaurante y bar. 長徳寺宿坊 Temple Hotel se encuentra en Shingu, a 5 min a pie de Kamikura Shrine y a 700 metros de Kumano Hayatama Taisha. One of our best stays in Japan! The host was extremely nice and spoke English. We arrived earlier than check in and were able to store our belongings in the temple. We asked the host for restaurant recommendations and he went above and beyond to help us find a place to eat (the ramen restaurant he recommended was very nice). The free alcohol was definitely a plus, we had a lot of fun!
