The room was absolutely fabulous, and we were delighted to receive an upgrade. Having our own private onsen-style facility in the bathroom made the experience truly special. The monk staff were incredibly gracious, friendly, and always ready to help.

Situated in Nachikatsuura, 1.6 km from Nachi Beach, Pension Sora features accommodation with a garden, free private parking and a shared lounge. Pension Sora was the perfect getaway from the city. Everything felt like it came straight out of a movie — peaceful, beautiful, and relaxing. The staff and owner were incredibly kind, and the view was amazing. A truly perfect stay.

Boasting garden views, ゲストハウス柚 features accommodation with free bikes, a garden and a terrace, around 200 metres from Kumano Hayatama Taisha. The building and the rooms are super traditional and charming and spacious and comfortable. There was a shaved ice machine and prepared ice and sirup, very tasty! Fantastic location, there is a great temple right next to it. The host was super friendly and helpful, he made the stay great!

Truly touched by Hitomi’s dedication as a host. Although we spent just one day together, the moment we arrived, her elegant and warm presence immediately lifted the spirits affected by the terrible weather of that day. Hitomi's humor and talent shone through, enhancing the delicious meals prepared by the chef. She went above and beyond by helping me dry my clothes in the rain and arranging our luggage transport the following day. These thoughtful gestures made our experience incredibly special. Thanks to Hitomi, the memories of the Kumano Kodo are forever etched in our hearts. Her selflessness, along with that of the chef, helped us discover the beauty of Katsuura, a hidden paradise. I look forward to returning one day and creating more beautiful memories with Hitomi and her exceptional hospitality.

簡易宿所 ふくろく is located in Shingu, less than 1 km from Kamikura Shrine, a 13-minute walk from Shingu Castle Ruins Park, as well as 1.4 km from Kumano Hayatama Taisha. Exceptionally nice. Wonderful rooms and clean easy shared facilities. The host was wonderful and so very kind.

Located in Shingu, 400 metres from Kamikura Shrine, 長徳寺宿坊 Temple Hotel has a garden, private parking and rooms with free WiFi access. I came late through the check in time because I missed the train and the host was understanding with me. The room was big, could be for four people, but I was alone and had all the amenities and was comfy. Would recommend if you plan to stay in Shingu.

Set in Tanabe in the Wakayama region, with Kumanokodo Nakahechi Museum of Art nearby, 民宿 和合 Minshuku WAGO features accommodation with access to a hot tub. Ike is a great host. Great dinner for a reasonable price. Breakfast and bento box for lunch on the trek available, both good. We'd visit again and recommend this place to others!
