Located in the sacred Koyasan area, Saizenin offers simple accommodation surrounded by mountains and many temples. Everything was fantastic. The room and the rest of the place was perfect. Some people here complained about the heat system, but we got the cheapest room and we didn't have a gas stove. We stayed at very beginning of February and the heating system was perfect for us. Food was delicious and a beautiful experience ( we hardly knew what we were eating, but we enjoyed just the same). In other words: a perfect experience

Everything about our stay was fantastic! The room was absolutely fabulous, and we were delighted to receive an upgrade. Having our own private onsen-style facility in the bathroom made the experience truly special. The monk staff were incredibly gracious, friendly, and always ready to help.

Unique old style house but very comfortable with just the right amount of modern conviences (heaters, well stocked kitchen, comfortable futons). House was beautiful. Great location, only steps away from Hayatama Taisha and a 15 min walk to Kamakura shrine. Also, host was very welcoming and helpful.

During our trip to Japan, we stayed at several five-star or Michelin-star hotels, but this guest house was by far the best of them all. The place is incredibly clean, rich in history, yet modern at the same time. You can truly feel the history, while everything is so well maintained that it feels brand new. Everything was perfect from beginning to end. I loved it so much that I will definitely come back for at least two or three nights just to relax and enjoy this beautiful place. 簡易宿所 ふくろく is located in Shingu, less than 1 km from Kamikura Shrine, a 13-minute walk from Shingu Castle Ruins Park, as well as 1.4 km from Kumano Hayatama Taisha. Such a lovely stay with the best okonomiyaki just down the road! Hospitality was amazing and even gave us some manju that they make in their shop to try!! Delicious! Perfect stay in a great location for the kumano kodo trail. Would definitely stay again!
