A national landmark in Yangon’s centre, this charming three-storey Victorian hotel offers a taste of the past with marble floors and rattan furnishings. We had a truly wonderful stay at The Strand which is a rare place that feels like a living piece of history while still offering every modern comfort. The service was outstanding throughout — especially the café team and Nai Min Tho, who were incredibly attentive to our vegan and vegetarian needs. We also loved spending time at the Sarkies Bar, where the cocktails and atmosphere were excellent. Also the Reception team Pwint, Myat and Hana were very attentive. And everywhere we felt pampered and very well taken care of. We travel a lot, but this stay was a real highlight, and we would wholeheartedly recommend The Strand to anyone visiting Yangon.

Mercure Yangon Kaba Aye is centrally located along Kaba Aye Pagoda Road leading to Inya Lake and just a 15-minute drive from Yangon International Airport and Shwedagon Pagoda. Exceptionally good experience staying there. From the friendly reception to the comfortable room. Very good room service and restaurant. A lovely atmosphere in the hotel.
