We camped at ‘Shrike’ and loved it, particularly the imaginative outdoor facilities. It is just an hour from the gate as Sesriem and it is preferable to camp at this idyllic spot rather than the bland and busy camps at the gate. We also availed of a lovely home cooked farm dinner on one of the evenings. A perfect camping spot.

Right from the main gate, seeing animals as you drive in, right through the checking out, everything was beautiful. The staff made everything perfect with their hospitality, and attending to each and every single need we had. Would love to stay there longer next time, and really take it all in.

Camp Gecko is one of the best memories of our trip! The setting of the large, comfortable tents in the quiet of the desert; the fantastic dinner braai packs with venison steak, salad, home-made bread and even a dessert (as we were not set up for camping, we were given crockery to use for our meal); the swim in the fish pond/pool with mountains in the background; the long shared breakfast table, where we met interesting fellow travellers. The owner Anna and Ernst at reception, who were both lovely, and the beer in the fridge there which was always cold :). We are seriously considering going back there for a longer stay!

Amazing place which exceeded by far our expectations - very high quality super stylish rooms, super comfy bed, own plunge pool in the rooms - amazing restaurant with impressive high quality buffet - from fresh salad buffet to ice cream bar - super friendly staff, very nice shop, great bar - great views - great segway to Sossuvlei

Desert Homestead Lodge asub 40 km kaugusel Sesriemi kanjonist. The grounds are stunning, beautifully set against the vast desert landscape, and the lodge itself feels peaceful, intimate, and incredibly special. The food was outstanding—thoughtfully prepared, delicious, and easily some of the best meals we had on our trip. Every meal felt like a highlight. What truly sets this place apart, though, is the staff. Everyone was unbelievably warm, friendly, and accommodating, making us feel genuinely welcomed and cared for throughout our stay. The excursions were fantastic, and a special shout-out to our guide Wakie Wakie, who was absolutely phenomenal—knowledgeable, engaging, and a joy to spend time with. His tours made the experience even more memorable. Highly, highly recommend Desert Homestead Lodge if you’re traveling to Sossusvlei. It’s the perfect blend of comfort, authenticity, and unforgettable desert magic.

Located on the C19, We Kebi Safari Lodge offers accommodation 88 km west of Maltahohe in the Hardap Region. This property offers panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. The location of the lodge is amazing! Watching the animals come to the waterhole is also really special.
