The place was in the best possible location! The pool and bar area were great! It is very close to the entrance gate of Soussesvlei, and the cottage was clean and spacious. The bed was large and super comfy, and the staff were very friendly and polite. Overall, a great stay!

The location is a short drive away from Sossusvlei on a gravel road. The camping sites are spaced out so you have a good amount of privacy. There private bathrooms and kitchen area are very clean with hot running water. The swimming pool was refreshing, especially in the 30+ degree heat. There is a little shop at the reception where you can buy frozen meat and game, wine, wood and a few other staple foods that you're missing. We thoroughly enjoyed our time here and would highly recommend it.

Absolutely superb experience- our tented home opened every morning to a stunning African savanna vista. We had a waterhole on our doorstep, where we were able to see wild horses frolicking as the sunset. Sunrise, sunset and the sky of stars are something to behold. Camp Gecko provides a quiet space to absorb the beauty of Africa and Namibian. It is close enough to Solitaire, your one dtoo for all but also far enough to truly experience the African bush. Staff were amazing and their varied braai packs were greatly appreciated. A cannot recommend Camp Gecko enough. We will be back.

Lugar mágico y tranquilo, perfecto para empaparte con los preciosos paisajes de Namibia y su fauna, no te dejan indiferente. Por la noche se duerme de maravilla, ni un solo ruido. Cena y desayuno muy buenos. Si vuelvo a Namibia no dudaré en volver a hospedarme aquí.

Solicitamos el desayuno para llevar, lo prepararon muy completo y bien empacado que pudimos disfrutar al pie de la Duna 45. Sin duda volveríamos a alojarnos encantados. Gracias a todo el personal por brindarnos una estadía inolvidable.

Solitaire Mountain Lodge offers views of the Namib Desert and the Naukluft Mountains. It features 1 outdoor pool, a garden and a restaurant. Dinner was a typical South African menu...Dinner had to be pre ordered at check in, but the dinner was awesome. The room was beautiful....Clean and big and had a view of the bush area. We were truly blessed. The signage could have been more visible on the roads heading towards the lodge. The location once there is truly stunning...We indeed could have stayed for a longer period of time. This was a truly amazing experience. We were advised that there is a watering hole where the wildlife sometimes drinks from but alas we missed any night animals, but in the morning, we saw wild dog, Springbok and two feisty Squirrels (which made us laugh)
