Beds were comfortable. They provide a nice cheap breakfast and there is a kitchen. Staff was excellent - I arrived after a night bus at 7:30am and they let me take a shower and have breakfast, and helped me book a tour basically immediately. The rooftop terrace with all the plants is so nice. Would recommend this place!

We had a wonderful stay in Chachapoyas! The house was clean, spacious, and had such a welcoming vibe. Nancy makes the best food - the focaccia and oat porridge were definite highlights for us! She helped us organize tours and even a private guide, which made everything so easy. On top of that, she was incredibly kind and drove us to the bus terminal when we left. The music and atmosphere in the reception/kitchen were always great, and the sweet dogs on the property made it feel even more like home. Highly recommended!

We had a wonderful experience staying at Casa de Mario. The location is perfect, right on the hiking trail to Gocta waterfall, with a beautiful view of the falls from the property. The village is quiet and peaceful, surrounded by nature. Mario is an exceptional host — he knows everything about the area and made us feel completely at home. He even made us a delicious homemade pizza with a purple corn crust — everything organic and full of flavor. We saw hummingbirds in the garden and many other beautiful birds around the property. It’s a great spot for bird lovers and nature lovers in general. If you’re coming to Cocachimba, don’t hesitate — Casa de Mario is the perfect place to stay!

Wonderful place to stay just outside of town with a nice view from the top floor to the mountains. It’s about 10-15 minutes on foot to the center. Very friendly owner who also owns a travel agency. He goes out of his way to help us for example to order pizza for us and to help us booking tickets for Kuelap online. We ordered a taxi with him to get us around and the driver Ivan was wonderful in also giving us explanations and talking about Peru people in general (possible even with our limited knowledge of Spanish).
