I stayed for five nights at the start of a bikepacking trip. Pilar was a great host and was very helpful as a fellow cyclist. The room had everything I needed and the kitchenette was great for making breakfast. WiFi was fast enough to do work. It was a bit of a walk from the centre, but it was easy and cheap to hop a bus nearby (just make sure you go the right way). While it's not in the historic centre, the neighbourhood was very peaceful and there was some good restaurants nearby. Update: Pilar offered to ship a bag of extra clothes and things to my final destination of Arequipa. I'm happy to say it showed up as promised. This made my life much easier and it shows Pilar's dedication to her guests. Upgraded to a 10 for that.

The hostel is very clean and has a nice rooftop terrace, clean showers with hot water and one of the best equipped (and cleanest!) kitchen I have seen in a hostel. There are tons of places to have breakfast or dinner in the surroundings, including a local market. The hostel was very quiet during my stay: I was the only guest while I was there. But I'd definitely sleep there again if I went back to Ayacucho!

The rooms were beautiful, big and cozy. The hotel is well located, very closed to the main square (less than 100 meters away) and it also offers a nice breakfast and tea bar. Guidebooks and previous comments about this property are out-of-date...the hotel has obviously been engaged in a major upgrade of the guest rooms elevating them to a superior, modern condition. Ayacucho is a beautiful colonial city that will inevitably be featured as an undiscovered gem for tourists.

I can honestly say that, out of all of the hotels I've ever stayed in, this one by far superseded any expectation. The rooms are very tidy and have all of the relevant commodities, the distance to the city center is doable on foot, the private bathrooms too, the breakfast is amazing and, last but not least, this was by far the friendliest staff I've ever had the privilege to be helped by. I would absolutely recommend.
