The family was wonderful -- gracious in every way. The apartment had just about everything. We didn't bring towels, so we had to borrow them, but they were very nice about it. It was less expensive than smaller places in the center of the city, so that left us with money for taxis back and forth. And we were busy, so we didn't need to do much in the area.

The location is ideal for bird watching and wildlife viewing. Every morning, you can see and hear dozens of songbirds and other birds, including very rare ones. The accommodation is located on the riverbank and you can watch monkeys, butterflies etc., etc. The breakfasts were very varied and made of high-quality local ingredients. We were delighted. For someone who loves nature, the accommodation is absolutely great. In addition, it provides everything you need. Everything is comfortably furnished, and nothing is missing. The owners were helpful and whatever was needed, they immediately helped to solve it, including advice on what to see in the area of natural beauty of Suriname, where to eat, etc. We were completely satisfied.

The place is really nice and clean, and sonjas food is amazing! They are a very kind couple and he waited patiently for me at airport for almost a 1h while I solved a visa issue and drove me back as well, when I needed. I wish I had more time there ♥️
