The host/hostess are extremely courteous and knowledgeable. They sent me on a delightful hike through the town and out into the countryside which was *exactly* what I wanted to do. At the same time, they were perfectly respectful of my desire for privacy. The room was charming and decorated with a bit of "Provencal" colored textiles. If this place is available when you are going to Autun, you should definitely reserve it.

You need a car to get there as it is located just outside of Dijon. It is worth getting a car just to see the place: it is essentially a mansion just outside of a now derelict cement factory that they have artfully and tastefully integrated into their property. The grounds are large, dotted with places to lounge, relax and enjoy. The swimming pool (heated!) is worth using, also because it has been built into the remains of the old factory. The entire estate is tastefully done, with no expense spared. It is no surprise that the breakfast is super, too. Deserves the 10-Star rating and well worth a stay there.
