Situated in Kirkby Lonsdale and with Trough of Bowland reachable within 28 km, Red Dragon Inn features a restaurant, non-smoking rooms, free WiFi and a bar. Great breakfast, lovely evening meal and friendly staff. Room a nice size, it’s our 5th stay so must be good!

Situated in Grasmere, 12 km from Windermere, Victorian House features parking is limited and offered on a first come and first served basis. The rooms come with a flat-screen TV. To start off, this place is located right across a sheep farm that's a few steps away from your door. When we first arrived, we were mesmerized by the greenery and the cattle. We were checked in and the staff were very friendly. They have complimentary cake at the entrance, which was some of the greatest cake I've ever had. If you're booking, don't miss the breakfast. I left today and I'm still craving their Royal Egg Benedict. They accomodated our Halal food requests and were very greatful. The location itself is perfect. Very close to the bus stops. And you could get a bus to ambleside and, more importantly, Keswick. The room was warm, cozy and clean. They have warmed towels and lovely hot water. Overall, an unforgettable experience and I'm definitely going back again.

The family-run Ambleside Townhouse is situated in Ambleside, 800 metres from Lake Windermere. It offers en suite rooms and a full English breakfast in the morning. Lovely big room. Very convenient parking. Extremely nice staff. Excellent breakfast.

Located near Orton, Westmorland Hotel Tebay offers en suite accommodation with superfast WiFi access throughout and parking facilities free of charge. Everything. Room, service and food were excellent. Very attentive and pleasant staff. Particularly one young man who served drinks when we arrived and then breakfast on Sunday morning

A 5-minute drive from Bassenthwaite Lake, Ravenstone Manor is an 19th-century manor house set in 3 hectares of ground. The property is at the foot of Skiddaw, overlooking Bassenthwaite Lake. By far, one of my favourite places to stay! We loved the outdoor terrace, the spectacular views and the genuine staff! Not to mention, great breakfast! Also, loved the idea of having dogs allowed - there were so many around which really added to the wonderful ambience :)

Set in Sedbergh in the Cumbria region, Borrett Escapes - Luxury Pods offers accommodation with free WiFi and free private parking, as well as access to a hot tub. The family were so friendly and helpful. It was so peaceful and the views were beautiful. The hot tub as well as the pod was spotless, plus you had towels for the bathroom and separate ones for the hot tub.

Set in Keswick, 9.3 km from Derwentwater Lake, The Swinside Inn offers accommodation with free bikes, free private parking, a terrace and a restaurant. This 4-star hotel features free WiFi and a bar. Lovely inn in the Lake District, walking distance to some nice and less busy hikes like Barrow. Delicious breakfast menu. Very clean and comfortable room. Hope to stay here again!

Housed in a historic building, the recently renovated Cumberland House features accommodation with a garden and free WiFi. The location was great. Right in the middle of town, was a great base. The whole House presented excellent very new and fresh. A large residence with plenty of room. We stayed as a family of five , but I could see it bringing comfortable for more people. The touches of family friendly games were adored by my children. A full size Washing Maxhine with a separate dryer is a great addition. Combo washer/dryers are ok but seem to take a lot longer. We had an issue with transport and ended up arriving quite late. Which I am now disappointed I did not get the full experience. NOTE: We arrived almost 7 hours after our scheduled check in. The host was exceptional in accommodating our late arrival. I cannot praise Gillian enough.
