While many places have turned these into modern hotels, this place has chosen to preserve its natural and original spirit. Step outside your room and you are surrounded by greenery. You wake up with nature and fall asleep to the sounds of the forest. The owner helped us to arrange the guide and airport taxi before arrival! When we arrived, my friend was not feeling well so the owner managed to change the duration of the trek and suggest other activities. Also, she managed to extend the stay and we kept the same room (from 1 night to 4 nights). We were pleased with nice food and hospitality like delivering food or tea to our room! Our room was upgraded to the family room which was more accessible from the river. I highly recommend this place!

The fan is all you need and we did not have any issues with mosquitos. It is so quiet at night since it is quite far down the side of the hill from the road. The hammock right in front of the lake is so peaceful. The food from the restaurant is delicious!!! Absolutely great place to come home to after a big day of exploring.

Then it’s a nightly festival. Rooms either face the peaceful rice paddies at the back (cue frogs, breeze, and existential bliss) or overlook Tataring Coffee & Resto, where a live band rocks out every Thursday and Saturday evening until midnight. Yes, the music is loud. No, earplugs won’t save you. But credit where it’s due.. the band slaps. Think less “karaoke horror” and more “why aren’t they famous yet?” A short walk takes you to shops and local eats, and there’s a chill little beach right opposite Tataring for your morning cool-off or evening cooldown. Perfect if you’re into either deep sleeps or deep bass. Choose wisely when booking—or just bring your dancing shoes and call it balance. Shoutout to caretaker Siska, a sweet, smiley lady who checked us in with warmth and a no-fuss attitude. She also shared great tips on where to eat and what to do, local style. Note : Motorbike rental at a discounted rate to guest only! High recommended to round island.

Absolute paradise. To stay on a 'private' island with only the 8 bungalows at Tailana is such a dream and amazing value for money. We ended up staying 7 nights. We got the 2hr speed boat both ways, which we managed to share with other guests (arranged on whatsapp). Average price was 1,600,000 for the two of us. We know other guests who did it with the public ferry and wooden boats. The room and bed were simple but comfy, good mosquito net. Because we extended our stay, we actually stayed in the newer A-Frame room as well as the older white-washed room, and while both were good, we actually preferred the older room as it was easier to stand in (the a-frame is a bit low on the sides of the bed obviously). The food was excellent, 3 delicious meals per day. They catered to vegetarian diet without a problem. Not many mosquitos which was surprising. We snorkelled everyday (you can rent equipment from their small dive shop on the island) and thought it was really beautiful. We saw a lot of coloured fish, some stingray, and one turtle. Definitely worth the big trip to get here, but we'd recommend staying at least 4 nights to make it worthwhile. The bathrooms are simple (European style, but non-flushing... which isn't a problem) The outdoor showers are great and offer enough privacy. Tip: I brought some beers with me and they let me keep them in the fridge :)

I was very happy with how close it is to that water and the boats are moored right out front. Food was different every meal, a mix of Spanish meals and Indonesian and also some Italian. Paco was super helpful organising our fast ferry over there and back, the staff were legends too. Would recommend anyone to stay here.
