Shiga Kogen Lodge features mountain views, free WiFi and free private parking, located in Yamanouchi, 20 km from Jigokudani Monkey Park. There is a seating and a dining area in all units. The food was amazing, it was an experience on it's own. Be prepared to eat things that you wouldn't usually eat and have a real authentic Japanese experience. I looked forward to breakfast every day, the food was beautiful and presented beautifully. The owners are super helpful and the location to the ski lifts is superb. We hadn't done an Onsen yet until we stayed at Shiga Kogen, so it was baptism by fire as the shared bathrooms is the Onsen, but don't be put off, it's an amazing experience and the Onsen is great after a day on the slopes.

Shiga No Yu Hotel is set in Yamanouchi, within 13 km of Jigokudani Monkey Park and 22 km of Ryuoo Ski Park. The food here is amazing. So fresh and delicious. Staff are very friendly and helpful.

Our favorite stay of our trip. Proprietors were so welcoming and accommodating for our every need. Amenities (shared and private onsen) were beautiful, and I enjoyed them every day of our stay! We were gifted some delicious manju at checkout--it really made our stay! Can't wait to come back and stay again!
