It is a perfect location to stay if you drive and you can purchase food and drinks very cheaply at the nearby MaxValu supermarket for your BBQ. The place is well equipment with a comfortable dinning room facing the sea. Going to Shirakawa-go is only one hour drive but don't attempt to drive to the Tenshukaku Oberservation Deck as you can only go there by shuttle bus. Shirakawa-go is a nice place to visit, don't miss.

Even though there was a language barrier we both used translation apps and I felt like we really got to know each other that way. It’s not the most “normal” stay and those looking for more of a hotel experience might not like it, but for those looking to have an adventure in Japan and to meet new people this place was perfect.

The absolute loveliest stay I’ve had in Japan. What a delight the hosts are - Glenda is an absolute gem and the loveliest. She used to tour around Japan as a singer! If you’re lucky enough, you can get her to sing a bit for you. Her husband is an incredibly talented chef and cooked us a huge and wonderful dinner - probably the best food I’ve had in Japan. Strong recommend!
