Our room and balcony was over looking a beautiful stream on the back of the property with wonderful streaming water sounds. It is also entirely new, in a very clean style with plenty of sockets everywhere fitting for European plugs. The service was extraordinary with Abi going out of his way, making sure we had everything we desired. It is very close to the entry of the Adams Peak track, but we took a TukTuk around the reservoir to take a swim above a magnificent water fall on the other side 🤗

The overall atmosphere was comfortable and relaxing, making it a great place to stay. Would definitely recommend this hotel and would be happy to return.

Exceptional hospitality from the lovely owner Gamini. He picked us up from the bus station and also drove us on a tour of the local tea factory and waterfalls for an extremely reasonable price. He even gave us two delicious avocados to eat for breakfast! The room was clean with good bathroom facilities including a lovely hot shower. It even had views of Lovers Leap waterfall in the distance. Brilliant quiet location. Highly recommend this stay!

We had an amazing experience staying at Barnes Cottage in Nuwara Eliya. The location was perfect—peaceful and scenic, just a short distance from Lovers Leap Waterfall and around 8–10 minutes from Nuwara Eliya town. Horton Plains was also conveniently nearby, which made our hiking plans easy. The host was incredibly caring and friendly—we felt truly looked after throughout our stay. The room was beautiful, spotlessly clean, and came with a lovely wooden fireplace that added such a cozy touch, especially during the cold weather. A special thanks to the host for going above and beyond when my girlfriend twisted her leg while hiking in Horton Plains. It was raining heavily and freezing cold that day, and the host kindly helped us by lighting up the fireplace and making the room warm and comfortable for her to rest and recover. That level of care meant a lot to us. Overall, I would highly recommend Barnes Cottage to anyone visiting Nuwara Eliya. The hospitality, location, and comfort make it a place worth returning to!

Incredible views, large rooms, everything brand new. Great service. The manager gave me a lot of information about area, transportation.... The manager accompanied me in tuctuc to the bus station in Hatton to be sure I caught the right bus further on.

It is very comfortable whether you travel with a large group of friends or families. They also had a TV/reading room in addition to 4 bed rooms. The drawing/dining space can accomodate nearly 12 to 15 adults at a time.
