Be prepared facilities are basic in the area with a local shop that provides only the very basic food stuffs and takes local cash. There is an amazing secluded beach at the bottom of a ,steep at times, jungle track that is accessible by foot only, its about 2km walking down and up around 223m of elevation. There is plenty to see on the route, including lots of parrots roosting at dusk.

It is right at the edge of town. The rooms have a fan or AC. There is hot water. The breakfast is huge. There is a place to hang wet clothes. The tiny taxi stand to hire motorbike drivers is close by. The hotel will arrange tours if you don’t want to use motorbikes. Carlos and his staff are all nice.

Casa Mãe is a well-renovated house with two rooms, one living room, one bathroom, and two balconies with amazing views. From the front balcony every morning we could see thousands of beautiful butterflies and colorful birds and from the back balcony, the view is unique to the garden, fruit trees, and plants like vanilla or black pepper. We also can see the sea and the national park. The staff is very kind and the property is always very clean. Near is the Pousadinha Mar Ave Ilha which belongs to the same owner where we can spend time reading or watching more than 100 TV channels from all over the world. The local meals were also fantastic, especially the fresh fish and the octopus. I truly recommend Casa Mãe to other guests who want to have a peaceful time. Grade 10.
