Babalao Bungalows has an outdoor swimming pool, garden, a shared lounge and terrace in Nungwi. I enjoyed my staying here, it felt very peaceful. Alp was very nice, helpful and attentive. The staff were great too. And I lived their kitchen, especially the prawn carry. The location is perfect, 2 minutes to the beach, close by to many restaurants and shops. I loved the umlimited time breakfast and the offer to shower if we are leaving late, and many small détails that make the difference

Situated in Nungwi, 400 metres from Nungwi Beach, Hostel 197 features accommodation with an outdoor swimming pool, free private parking, a fitness centre and a garden. I genuinely loved the dorms. They were incredibly spacious and offered so much room for every single person. You have your own locker, a double bed and far more privacy than you would ever expect in an eight-bed dorm. It honestly does not feel like staying in a dorm at all. The pool area was beautiful, the water was always clean and the welcome drink and constant water refills were such a nice touch. There are animals around, the beach is very close and there are evening activities, which made the whole stay even more enjoyable. The host was extremely friendly, attentive and genuinely kind. The breakfast was also very delicious. I have stayed in many hostels around the world and I can confidently say this is by far one of the best I have ever slept in. I stayed for only three nights because I had already booked another place, but I would have loved to extend. Almost everyone I met actually extended their stay, which says a lot about how satisfied people are with this property. Will go again soon!

The staff are very kindly, they greeted us very warmly and hospitably The food is very varied and tasty, every day wonderful new dishes from a great chef Hazel is a great manager, always smiling and ready to help with any question. It’s is fully safe place. The ocean is shallow, the water is clear, clear and very warm. Strong tides depend on the phase of the moon. You can admire starfish, sea cucumbers, sea urchins and other fauna.

We absolutely loved our time here and would happily come back for another stay. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a tranquil and memorable Nungwi getaway!

The place was tidy and clean, the bed was comfortable, and there was always Wi-Fi, electricity and hot water. Everything was exactly as shown in the photos. The host was always available and very helpful, even with things not directly related to the accommodation.

One of the features I truly appreciated was the mosquito and insect screens on the doors and windows, ensuring a bug-free environment throughout my stay. The hotel itself is new, exceptionally clean, and well-maintained. Towels were changed daily, and the room was freshened up every day, which added to the overall comfort. The staff were incredibly friendly and always greeted me with a smile. They were eager to assist with anything I needed, making the experience even more enjoyable. The garden and pool area were beautifully maintained, providing a serene and picturesque setting for relaxation. The owner was always present on-site and clearly dedicated to ensuring guests had a comfortable stay. Despite the island's limited resources, the hotel offered a seamless experience with reliable water, electricity, and excellent Wi-Fi. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Zanzibar. It’s a perfect blend of comfort, quality service, and cultural charm.
