- We stayed in the upstairs room. There are only 2 rooms. - The room was very private, with great views of the local rice fields and mountains. - The bed is very comfortable , with good blackout curtains with quiet aircon with lots of opening windows for fresh air. - The bathroom and toilet were behind glass doors inside the room. Both were exceptionally clean and tidy. - We chose to have breakfast and dinner at our room - both were generous and tasty. Nyoman is a former hotel chef. - Tea and coffee were available free on request . - The pool was very refreshing after a day out with Wayan showing us the local waterfalls and nature walks. Wayan is very knowledgeable about what Munduk has to offer and is happy to answer all our questions. We enjoyed chatting with him. - We enjoyed the location within a village along with the usual village noises during the day and dawn and dusk.

The place is beautiful. It is a great beach for swimming or enjoying the sunset. One can seamlessly go from relaxing on the beach to the swimming pool or the porch of the room. It is the perfect place to rest. The check-in process was the best I experienced in many years of travelling. The staff goes above and beyond to make us feel welcome. They have been very helpful with any aspect of our stay. The selection of mocktails is excellent.

Tranquil, private bungalow, surrounded by gardens and shade, a relatively spacious deck area with plenty of lounge choices, including hammock, and a raised platform slightly removed from the main house, where you can dry off after dipping into the pool. A perfect oasis, just down the road from Brahmavihara Arama, and a short scooter ride to Banjar hot springs. Koming the manager cooks delicious food and took me on a local walk through the small farms with plentiful fruit, nuts, spices and veges. There is a double bed and a single bed. Great for solo travellers, couples, or small family. The house is owned by an expat, and managed by the family who own the land so it feels very homely. One of my favourite places in Bali 🙂

How to find the words to describe the best accommodation we have ever stayed in over the course of a lifetime?!! The word “paradise” tends to be bandied around loosely, but we have no hesitation in describing Villa Irrawaddy as paradise - and far and away the greatest villa we have ever encountered in our vast travels! Imagine a villa fit for the likes of Mick Jagger or other celebrities/rock-stars - Vill Irrawaddy is that place! It’s how “the other half lives” or holidays, but amazingly we got to experience that “other half” for 6 magical nights! Hard as it is to describe the experience, bullet points are probably the easiest way: * the infinity pool is probably the star of the show - easily the size of an entire resort pool, but remarkably we get to have it to ourselves! The view from the pool is simply breathtakingly magical - and always at the perfect temperature. It’s easily the greatest pool we’ve encountered in our lives. * The spaciousness and design of the 4 bedrooms and bathrooms is just perfection. The interior design - and aesthetics - is just something to behold - everything so tasteful, so high-end - seamlessly merging Indonesian influences with great design and functionality. Objects of art and of craft adorn almost every corner, but it’s far from cluttered - it’s brilliantly thought out, with an incredibly aesthetic eye! * The staff are simply wonderful. Nyoman and Kadek were there every day to ensure our every need was met - often preempting our needs in fact. Genuinely warm, and incredibly helpful, they were a joy to interact with every day. Kadek even played chess and pool with our 10-yr old! * The location is about 20 -30 min out of Lovina central - which is part of what makes the villa so serene and such an escape. And why the vista is so spectacular, perched (alone) on a hillside overlooking jungle and sea! And with Manis (the fantastic driver they organised for us) taking us everywhere we wanted to go, we never felt isolated.

We had a very nice stay in Villa Riang, located in Mayong, between Mundunk and the costal area of Lovina.. a very good location when you want to avoid the crowd. Splendid view from the terrasse with a nice refreshing little pool. Good local food prepared by Ria. In the next morning, we could enjoy the cultural walk with her husband Putu in the area, to meet the farmers and know more about Bali's rituals & plants. A perfect place to stop for those who want an authentic Balinese experience.
