It was exactly what I expected , nothing fancy but I wasn’t expecting that for the price , it was a short walk from the airport and the young man at reception was pleasant and helpful . The hotel was quiet and clean , perfect for a transit hotel .

It was a joyful experience to be welcomed by Jack and his team to BS Guest House. Bali Segara has been re-invented as a pet friendly home away from home located in Tuban, just a few minutes bike ride from Kuta. The rooms were beautiful, all very comfortable and a selection of types of room to suit most guests. There is a reflexology room, a sealed room for digital nomads to host calls without noise, a sweet little cafe and grassed area for playing with your pet. The air con, hot water and room amenities were very good and all working beautifully. What really made the stay so special was the team of people who were so welcoming and so kind to both me and my little dog Coco. Saturday night there is live music til 9pm in the grassed courtyard. It really felt like a family home. Thanks so much to the whole team at BS Guest House. Simone & CocoBella.

Location and Transport

Ngurah Rai International Airport offers easy access to Bali’s southern tourist spots, and is just 2 miles (3 kilometres) from Kuta’s resort centre and 8 miles (13 kilometres) from Denpasar. A taxi will take around 35 minutes to reach Denpasar and cost about IDR 125,000, while a taxi to Kuta costs around IDR 80,000.

Kuta has eating places and shopping in the roads leading to the beach. Traffic is one way only along the beach road and usually busy. Also has major shopping centre called beach walk where you can get nearly anything. Some nice accommodation and restaurants along beachfront

Nice place to stay in, you will not feel lonely as this area...

Nice place to stay in, you will not feel lonely as this area is very lively. The One Legian hotel is not a luxury hotel but it met all our needs to find ATM, food, laundry, transport and nearby Kuta beach with its beautiful mall. The hotel has escalators and lifts with weighing scale at the lobby. Great place to stay in!

Just the right balance between local and tourist.

Just the right balance between local and tourist. Nice and quiet but all the shops you need are within walking distance. Easy to get anywhere with a GRAB (same as Uber) and incredibly cheap ... a few dollars gets you just about anywhere. We used Grab almost all the time. Our teenage kids loved the GRAB scooters :)

Great city to explore... wish we would have had more time to...

Great city to explore... wish we would have had more time to look around. Everyone we met or talked to were very friendly and kind. Highly recommend. Be prepared to spend time in a vehicle as the traffic is a challenge at best. We went to one of the local malls, enjoying it immensely.

Love the kartika the best hotel in our opinion tried others but come back to the kartika. Lovely big hotel plenty of space plenty of chairs around the pool, food top class staff are lovely It’s just a beautiful hotel set in vibrant south Kuta Overlooking the ocean. We love sitting enjoying the different groups every night whilst looking out to the ocean enjoying dinner Top Class. Kuta we love. Easy walking into Kuta along the ocean path some lovely shops and restaurants.

We like to stay in Legian as you are in the middle between...

We like to stay in Legian as you are in the middle between Kuta and Semi. We can walk either way but still be in a quieter area. Shopping and food outlets are plenty. Beach has the amazing views to watch the sunset and see the planes flying in the distance. The beach pathway is great too. We do a lot of walking for sight seeing. Visit Discovery and Bali Gali centres.

I recently returned to Seminyak after three years, and while it still has its charm, I definitely noticed some changes compared to my last visit. One of the biggest differences was the nightlife. Back then, Seminyak felt much more vibrant and lively at night. This time around, many of the restaurants, bars, and beach clubs seemed noticeably quieter, with some places appearing almost empty even during what would normally be peak hours. While there are still plenty of great venues to choose from, the overall nightlife atmosphere didn't feel as energetic as it did a few years ago. That said, Seminyak remains one of the most convenient areas to stay in Bali. The location is excellent, with countless cafes, restaurants, boutiques, spas, and beach access all within easy reach. Whether you're looking for brunch spots, sunset drinks, shopping, or relaxing by the beach, you'll still find plenty of options. I also appreciated that Seminyak feels a bit more relaxed now. The slightly less crowded atmosphere made it easier to get reservations, enjoy restaurants without long waits, and explore at a more comfortable pace. Traffic can still be challenging during busy hours, but that's part of the Bali experience. For first-time visitors, I would still recommend Seminyak as a great base for exploring Bali. It offers a good balance of convenience, dining, shopping, and beach access. Just don't expect the same bustling nightlife that Seminyak was known for several years ago. It feels like the area has evolved into a more laid-back destination that appeals to travelers looking for good food, beautiful sunsets, and a more relaxed vacation vibe.

It was easy to get around but little to do nearby. A great turtle conservation centre that will keep most people occupied for up to an hour. It's very easy to get to the ports - one of the best port experiences I've had in Bali where you aren't overwhelmed by people trying to / demanding they order you taxis or sell you things.

The hotel’s location right at DPS Airport makes it incredibly convenient, especially for late-night arrivals like ours at 00:20. We really appreciated that it was still open for drinks and food, which made our arrival much more comfortable. The hotel’s views are spectacular and the staff are super friendly.
