Location and Transport
Ngurah Rai International Airport offers easy access to Bali’s southern tourist spots, and is just 2 miles (3 kilometres) from Kuta’s resort centre and 8 miles (13 kilometres) from Denpasar. A taxi will take around 35 minutes to reach Denpasar and cost about IDR 125,000, while a taxi to Kuta costs around IDR 80,000.

Kuta has lots of shopping and close to most things. easy to book excursions and get picked up. It is busy so itis noisy, but we didn't mind. The people on the street that keep trying to give you a free ticket are a pain as it is just timeshare accommodation, we just keep saying no, most leave you alone after this, but some will follow you and keep trying. The staff in the shops and restaurants give excellent serves. We did go to the dentist on our trip they are excellent Rejuvie Dental Center Kuta.

The staff where very helpful and done everything we needed...
The staff where very helpful and done everything we needed also with everything at your feet you cant go wrong eg ATMs,convenient store gift stalls and the list goes on.Also one of the best places to eat was the Brunch Club but closes at 6pm.With some good Aussie coffee named ART Coffee we had no regrets.
Also to relax plenty of massage clinics!!!

As this was our first time in Bali, we dont have anything to compare it to. We loved our week stay there and wished we had of been able to stay longer. We will be looking to return this time next year too.

Great city to explore... wish we would have had more time to look around. Everyone we met or talked to were very friendly and kind. Highly recommend. Be prepared to spend time in a vehicle as the traffic is a challenge at best. We went to one of the local malls, enjoying it immensely.

Kuta is a fantastic destination with beautiful beaches, friendly locals, and plenty of restaurants, shops, and activities. It’s a great place to relax, enjoy the sunsets, or explore the local culture. I only wish I had stayed longer, as there was still so much to see and do. I would definitely recommend Kuta to anyone visiting Bali.

Plenty of bars and cafes also within walking distance of hotels. Makan Place and Seniloa were our favourite places to eat and a drink at Uncle Norms is always nice.

Just the right balance between local and tourist. Nice and quiet but all the shops you need are within walking distance. Easy to get anywhere with a GRAB (same as Uber) and incredibly cheap ... a few dollars gets you just about anywhere. We used Grab almost all the time. Our teenage kids loved the GRAB scooters :)

Eat Street has become one way for cars.
Eat Street has become one way for cars. This makes some taxi rides long as they must do loops to get to some destination's. It is high end shops and restaurants and the foot paths need fixing. Scooters and bikes often park on the foot path and difficult to walk around.

It was easy to get around but little to do nearby. A great turtle conservation centre that will keep most people occupied for up to an hour. It's very easy to get to the ports - one of the best port experiences I've had in Bali where you aren't overwhelmed by people trying to / demanding they order you taxis or sell you things.
