This is one of the most beautiful and kind places that I have ever stayed in. The food is delicious and nourishing and some of the best I’ve had in India, the surroundings are stunning (don’t miss out on the 4 o’clock walk with Ansel, an extremely knowledgable nature guide who obviously loves sharing what he knows). All the little extras - such as free chai in the afternoons and bonfire night - makes this place truly unique.

As a lover of small and intimate boutique style hotels, I found the Chithirapuram totally to my taste. The hotel is thoughtfully decorated, the rooms are quite roomy, and it was excellent value for the price. Perhaps what made our stay so enjoyable was the charming and funny manager Manoj. What a tremendously nice man ! Nothing was too much trouble for us. During our stay I developed what could have been a serious condition and he drove me down to the hospital in Kochi. As if that was not enough, he stayed for a few hours to potentially interpret and make sure that I was getting the proper care. As another bonus, the food was also quite good.

I stayed at this hotel with my family and booked a twin room. The room was very spacious, and the bathroom was clean and well maintained. The hotel owner is extremely friendly and helpful. He guided us throughout our stay and was very supportive. We had booked the hotel for two days, but due to a change in our plans on the second day, the hotel kindly canceled our booking and refunded us without any questions, which we really appreciated. The next morning, we had breakfast, which was freshly prepared and served hot. The owner was personally involved in the kitchen and even served us himself, which added a nice personal touch. Overall, it was a pleasant experience, and I highly recommend and rate this hotel.
