Location & Views: The hotel's location is really good. True to their advertisement, the rooms face a large, scenic valley, offering sweeping views of tea estates, lakes, and forests. The approach to the hotel involves a somewhat steep downward walk, but it is a short stretch and worth the effort for the resulting scenery. The hotel is conveniently located close to the Haputale main road. Rooms & Dining: The room was very clean and reasonably sized, equipped with a kettle and tea packets. The bed was comfortable and had enough blankets for the cold (in November). The on-site restaurant (which is the entry / ground floor) also takes full advantage of the valley view. The breakfast was excellent and had a good spread (fruits, bread, pancakes, tea) and the host also offered to switch it up with Sri lankan dishes should I wish. The kitchen even custom-made a coconut-based pancake to cater to my specific dietary restrictions, which was nice. Service: Very good service. Gamini, the caretaker, is incredibly helpful, friendly, present in case of need. When I had an early morning start at 6:30 AM, he packed a takeaway breakfast without me even asking. I also noticed the hotel arranging tuk-tuks to local spots like Lipton’s Seat upon request. In fact, the entire staff is friendly and attentive to guests' needs. Minor Notes: I initially had some issues with the Wi-Fi, but it was fixed quickly by the hosts. There was also some minor confusion regarding billing and what dollar rate conversion is used - which would be good to fix in the future, but nothing that spoiled the experience. Overall, while Vantage Hills is not the cheapest in Haputale, I felt it offers excellent value for the money. Between the views, cleanliness and the great hospitality, I would definitely stay here again.

The view was amazing, the house was great, spacious and had the same amazing clear view. The food was excellent and served beautifully. The staff was helpful and organized for us little trip to the 2nd highest waterfall which we can strongly recommend.

The place was great with amazing views and a calm atmosphere. You hardly ever hear any vehicle traffic. You could hear a lot of birds, especially in the morning. The staff did an amazing job to make us comfortable and made us delicious meals. The owner, Muni lives next door and was very responsive to all our questions and requests. The villas themselves are very nicely designed, built and decorated. Everything was very thoughtfully done. Great place to wind down and get in touch with nature.

Gorgeous setting, felt so well looked after! 3 x delicious home-cooked meals and with the place all to ourselves, we got the peace and quiet we desperately needed. Absolutely stunning location, nestled into the hills below Haputale, too much to do in the local area of which we achieved very little as we didn't want to leave. Bedroom very clean, spacious and comfortable, loved taking a bath at sunset watching the views! We'll be back!

**Romance Valley, Sri Lanka – A Peaceful Escape in the Hills** Romance Valley is a privately owned and run gem tucked away in the misty hills of Sri Lanka. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by cool, cloudy weather and stunning natural beauty. The nearby waterfall and tea farms added to the charm of the location. Our room offered a spectacular L-shaped panoramic view of the valley, complete with a cozy patio that had plenty of 3-pin plug points—super handy. While the WiFi was decent for basic browsing, it’s not ideal for streaming, so it's best to download anything you need in advance. Meals were a highlight—privately booked and freshly prepared by Chef Kumar and his team. They catered to all our dietary needs and made each meal feel home-cooked and special. There’s plenty to explore on foot in and around the property, and surprisingly, we didn’t encounter any mosquitoes. That said, we still recommend carrying OFF! mosquito spray—just to be safe. Before we headed to the nearby waterfall, Chef Kumar even gave us a saltwater spray to keep the leeches away. Thoughtful touches like that made the stay even more memorable. When it’s time to head back to the city, we suggest using the Pick Me app to easily book a car or tuk-tuk. Highly recommended for a quiet, nature-filled getaway with personalized care.

A wonderful and magical experience, we stayed at the forest pavilion, and being close to nature and in a beautiful and comfortable "room" was truly amazing. The room itself was great, the bed comfortable, there was even wifi which I didn't expect. The food was great, and was very reasonably priced. The grounds are beautiful, there's a waterfall on the property which you can hike to, and the pool area is amazing. Will recommend and happily stay again!
