It was one of the most beautiful places we’ve stayed in for a long time. Although the photos already looked stunning, the reality far surpassed our expectations. We were warmly welcomed by the friendly staff with freshly made roosterkoek and vetkoek. The cabin was beautifully furnished and decorated, striking the perfect balance between nature and luxury. Big high five to the Mimosa Guest House in Makhanda, my base of operations (along with a herd of cows outside) during the RU120 visit to Makhanda. Very comfortable historic home in a lush garden setting with inviting charcoal pool. Temperatures required regular immersions and poolside lounging. Woke up to the caterwauling of the Hadada Ibis in the trees each morning. Enjoyed meals at Major Fraser's across the street from Drostdy Arch. They have superb pizzas that are wood-fired oven-cooked.
