Airport shuttle was waiting when we arrived and the driver was really friendly and knowledgeable. We only stayed one night as our flight had been delayed and we had to book in SJO last minute. We were looking for something convenient and comfortable and it met those requirements perfectly. There are food trucks and a supermarket and pharmacy outside as well as a nice restaurant in the hotel itself. We used the gym which was clean and well maintained. Staff were friendly and helpful.

You can even wash and dry your clothes while you’re there. It is also only 5 kilometers from the hotels that are pick up points for many of the tours that go to the Arenal volcano. The owner is very responsive and accommodating.

Very comfortable room (superior suite upstairs) with great view over the canyon. Pool and hot tub were the perfect place to relax before our flight back to the UK. Loved the help yourself coffee and honesty bar. Tasty breakfast.

Set in a residential area, next to Costa Rica Country Club, Apartotel & Suites Villas del Rio features 2 outdoor pools, a hot tub and gym. A free airport shuttle service is offered. This is my second stay at the the Villas del Rio. It is well located, and the breakfast, pool/jacuzzi and transport to and from the airport is much enjoyed and appreciated.
