We were lucky to have stayed a week in November when it was bright sunshine so we were able to take advantage of the beautiful surroundings. Cycling is so easy as the hotel really is in the middle of the forest but glad we had e-bikes as steep slopes all around. The bridge directly into the forest was an instant immersion into to Schwarzwald. We also took advantage of the wellness program and did qi-jong in the fresh air and reminded ourselves to slow down and breathe! The food was delicious and the staff were so friendly and welcoming. Big shout out to our waitress Anna too.

The restaurant staff were very attentive and the food was just amazing. I had a good restful stay in the comfy room after a long hike with great views to the nature landscape.

The double room I was in was large and with a great size balcony; the spotlessly clean bathroom that looked like it had been installed recently. The hotel has excellent wellness facilities. And there is great food available for breakfast and served for dinner. The hotel is run by a family which creates a great atmosphere and services are delivered with great care and pride. It is relatively easy to travel to Hinterzarten by public transport and the hotel is within 10 mins walk from the railway station. The forest trails start within less than 100 meters from the hotel. There are great many forest walks and lots of things to do in the area.
