Featuring a business centre, an outdoor pool, and a state-of-the-art fitness centre with city views, Holiday Inn Guayaquil Airport offers free Wi-Fi and buffet breakfast in Guayaquil. We needed to stay overnight between flights and I was very nervous given the city's reputation. The hotel is by far your safest option for short term stays, it is 2-300 meters from the terminal, you can easily walk it if you don't have luggage, the hotel entrance is just by the security checkpoint, so all safe. We took the complimentary hotel shuttle, had someone waiting for us in the terminal. They have a dedicated entrance/exit in the airport parking so the transfer takes 2 minutes. Swimming pool was nice and you have a nice view of planes coming in to land. Room was clean and with all amenities you would expect.

The staff was kind, welcoming and helpful, but the brother and sister duo are leaving to Manta, to run their own hotel, so let's hope that their replacements will be able to fill in their shoes. Las Penas is the safest neighbourhood in this city, so feel free to walk up 444 steps to the top of the hill and go up the lighthouse just in case the stunning views from this penthouse are not good enough for you. This may also be the best value for money ever, though I had 44% discount on booking.

I arrived late but the guardian was there to open the gate and assist with parking. It is convenient location near the airport. The room was clean and hot water in the shower. They do allow dogs so we stayed near the pool and there was a grassy area to walk our dog. Management was very accommodating. Breakfast is made-to-order. I would highly recommend to stay here! We felt safe and it was a bit like home.
