What a special stay. Sophie gave us such a warm welcome to her beautiful place. It has stunning views, spotless rooms that were beautifully decorated and a lovely space to relax after your journey. Sophie offered to cook for us, so we shared a delicious dinner and breakfast together. The food was delicious and the hospitality was exceptional. We all left feeling very happy. We cannot recommend it highly enough. We’d love to come back.

It created such a warm and friendly atmosphere, making it so easy to meet lovely people from all over. The room was good, nicely decorated, and came with an view over the fields and mountains – both from the room and the garden. It was the perfect peaceful setting to relax and enjoy nature. Dinner each night was a real treat. Julien prepared a delicious 3-course meal that easily matched restaurant quality – it felt like a gourmet experience every evening. I highly recommend staying here if you’re looking for genuine hospitality, great food, and unforgettable memories. Thank you, Julien, for everything!

Featuring a seasonal outdoor swimming pool and views of lake, Château De Matel is a recently renovated bed and breakfast located in Roanne, 8 km from The Scarabée. A lovely building and gardens with everything we needed for a very peaceful and comfortable stay. The children were able to use the very well maintained outdoor swimming pool when we arrived. Oliver was a fabulous host, even finding us a restaurant locally for dinner and booking this in for us shortly after we arrived. We will definitely return.
