We loved our stay at Kariappa House. The rooms were truly beautiful—tastefully decorated, spacious, and full of character, with wonderfully hot showers. The common areas were equally charming, and strolling around the quiet backstreets felt wonderfully authentic. Nestled near the sea, the location has a lovely village feel yet is still close enough to walk to White Town. We had initially worried about potential temple noise, but we didn’t hear anything. The staff went above and beyond, and Mr. Ramzy was especially delightful. We really appreciated all the information in the welcome package. Being away from the hustle and bustle in central Pondicherry made for a wonderfully relaxing weekend of touring, resting, and enjoying great food. Kariappa House’s beautiful garden and pool were perfect for retreating after a day of exploring. We will certainly be back!

I loved everything about La Villa. We arrived early in the morning, well before check-in, and we were greeted with a warm welcome. Staff could not be more gracious. Breakfast everday was lovely. The ambiance of the seating area is magical. Room is spacious as well as the bathroom and all is decorated tastefully. Bed is comfortable. Location is perfect.

It was amazing. Everything was clean, roomy and the location was quiet and peaceful. The rooms were spacious and ample amount of natural light. The swimming pool was good as well. The best part was the helpers they were so kind and accommodating. Definitely would recommend this!!

This is a great guesthouse with a friendly owner in a location a little south of the historic town so a little quieter than other places. Our room had a lovely little seating area, comfortable bed and good shower. The small pool was clean and refreshing after walking around town. Breakfast was south Indian or pastries with fruit, tea or coffee. It was delicious. It is close to the train station and there is fabulous street food along South Boulevard which is definitely worth checking out. We had to catch an early train the day we left and the owner kindly provided us with some pastries the evening before so we could have an early breakfast. The pool area could be improved a lot with the addition of some furniture so guests can read or supervise children in the pool. We did not want to use the chairs in the breakfast area after swimming because the cushions would get wet. Staying here really made our stay in Pondy extra special, so would definitely return.
