Amazing hotel and design. The room was close to perfection with all the comfort. Staff was incredibly helpful and professional. This place felt like the closest to perfection I ever had in hotellerie. Nowadays a lot of hotel have the 5 star but they are far away from the standard of a real one. This is a real one.

Sensational bathroom and wardrobe areas, best house slippers ever, exquisite in room tea service, state-of-the-art lighting, blinds, taps, toilets, locks, lifts, superb linen, and OH THE STAFF Especially Yuri and Jan! there is something about the hospitality here, deeply personalized, attentive and not overbearing… the breakfast is a symphony of east and west (try the soy apple yoghurt, exquisite tofu, the pickles of every kind, smoked trout and most colour vision organic eggs), sitting on indigo designed banquettes by BLINK design group (wow). I also love the daily classes, a wellness program and even sound bath. Please try and have a yoga class - japanese style really stimulates meridians. The onsen is serene with exceptional sauna and steam facilities. It was an utter pleasure to experience this hotel and the divine local area including Sanjusangendomawari astonishing archery temple, the potter Kawai Kanjiro’s astonishing house, one of my favorite ever cafes Ichikawaya Coffee and for late night r and b and ebisu gin Record Bar Yamada. just wow!

Incredible location, huge rooms and absolutely top notch buffet. We had breakfast and dinner and the food was brilliant. Didn’t try the onsen but it looked popular as many people meandered about in dressing gowns.
