There are so many things to like about this hotel: - Price is right for what it offers. - Staff are extremely helpful and kind. - Location is walking distance from the nearest subway station and the shopping district. - Two coin laundries on the 1st Floor. - Room contains everything that we needed for our one week trip. - Lounge is opened to all guests on the 2nd Floor from 12:00 to 22:00 for free refreshments (photos shared are of that area). - As an added bonus, they allowed us to keep our luggage at the hotel after check out so that we can do some last minute exploring before flying out at midnight.

The hotel is very well situated and well-connected as it is close to both a metro station and multiple bus stations, not to mention it being within walking distance of many central locations. The very neighbourhood it is located in is absolutely lovely, Gion being the ild geisha district full of little charming streets and historic buildings - it was a joy to explore day and night and find little hidden gems! The staff were very friendly and accommodating and the room itself was clean and very comfortable - we had everything we could need! We stayed in Kyoto for quite a while - whole 5 days, and the hotel truly felt like a mini home meanwhile. We had a wonderful time!

This was the largest room I had on the whole trip. The room was very nice, decorated in loft style, everything is thought out to the smallest detail. The staff were very friendly and helpful in all matters. Just before we left, I found out that there was a roof top with amazing view of the old town, don’t miss it!!! The location is very good, almost in the centre of the old town, lots of cafes and restaurants nearby 👌🏻. There is a coffee point next to the hotel where guests get a discount. It's a place you really want to go back to. I highly recommend it !!!!

One of the few APA chain hotels that had twin rooms with separate beds. Perfect if you travel with group and by train. Breakfast includes a big variety of both national and continental dishes, as well as home-made ice cream. A great opportunity to relax in the hot SPA baths at the hotel in the evening if you have spent the whole day on your feet. Very responsive and nice English speaking staff!

Hotel She had a super cute lobby and we loved the complimentary ice cream. The room was well appointed with thoughtful features like a record player and we loved borrowing a record from reception and listening to it in our room. The room was fairly small but really comfortable and the bathroom was well laid out for the size.

This incredibly beautiful city has so much to offer - we only had 3 full days and wish we’d planned a week here. The big issue is the number of foreigners!! Go early to the biggest destinations - Kiyomizu dera temple, Fushimi Inari, Arashiyama, etc! Check out the lesser known spots, which are just as beautiful but don’t have the huge crowds. Use Luup e-bikes to traverse the city with ease while enjoying the back streets or cruise along the river bank. Carry a little trash bag to bring your garbage back to your hotel, buy a little handkerchief and a UV umbrella, be respectful of Japanese customs. We can’t wait to return to Kyoto!

Beautiful surroundings, not many tourists, cable cars to both sides of the water bridge were great, I went on a hike on one (although they want you to pay for the bus, it was a bit much, so I walked to the temple). I walked across the water bridge about 3 times, great walk, and a great solo trip even for women alone. I recommend it. I did also one day trip to boat villgae Inu - amazing. Recommend to go on the boat with locals.

We stayed one night and spent around half of two separate days in Ine. We loved Ine Cafe with its outside waterfront section, as well as Wadatsumi, a seafood restaurant serving freshly caught fish from the fishing boats we could see from our hotel window (and from almost everywhere else in town). The boat tour with a surprise seagull feeding session was also a highlight! Otherwise, there are some cute stores and cafes to explore along the main stretch, and a viewing point selling souvenirs at the top of a hill overlooking the town--all very walkable. Ine is so small that we kept bumping into the hotel staff and chatting about our day, or the town itself, which we found very charming and a great opportunity to get to know the area's history and feel its specific Kansai charm. However, this was all in Japanese, as was our boat tour, and I wondered whether much English is spoken generally. A day trip or overnight tour is enough to 'do' and 'see' everything, but Ine is really about soaking up the atmosphere, enjoying creature comforts, and contemplating the shifting scenery as the light and weather change--a longer stay would be perfect for a workcation or writer's retreat, for example, but likely a little difficult for young kids.

There are many places to visit for sightseeing, including Sanjusangendo, Kenninji Temple, Shimogamo Shrine/ Kawai Shrine, Todukiji Temple, Imamiya Shrine, Gion Shirakawa area, Nanzenji temple/ Suirokaku, many museums and you name it. There are a lot of kinds of cuisine to enjoy, Japanese foods, Kyoto style Chinese cuisine, good coffees at various cafes. Also, many good bakeries in the city. Shijo Kawaramachi area is a good place to find many restaurants. We usually buy one-day ticket for subway/ bus rides when we plan to visit various places.

I especially recommend it to travelers from overseas. If you are sightseeing in Kyoto, Nara, or Osaka for a few days, staying at this facility and using Kameoka as your base will be the best way to travel to Kansai. Like taking a day trip from your home. If your schedule is 2 nights and 3 days or 3 nights and 4 days, it is definitely a good deal even if you add transportation expenses. You can't stay in a house in Kyoto or Nara.

Temples, shrines, fascinating neighborhoods, an interest walk (Philosopher's Walk), even an Irish bar! Crowded with tourists, but since we were among those we can hardly complain. Too many temples and shrines to visit -- we could have spent weeks doing that, because we enjoyed the peace in most of them in each case. Other than the "Red Gates" shrine, which needs to be visited in the early morning, because it was too crowded to enjoy when we visited late one afternoon. With more time we would have enjoyed seeing the city museum and more sites.

Miyazu which includes Amanohashidate, is one of three natural sites in Japan. The land bridge spans across the sea is fun to view from the observation points (on both sides) and you can actually bike (20 minutes) or walk (50 minutes) one way across. A small town with lots of charm and beauty.
