Hotel & Resorts Kyoto-Miyazu features a spacious public bath and a sauna for guests to enjoy their stay. The Western-style rooms include a flat-screen TV. We chose this hotel because of the choice of in-house restaurants and we were not disappointed. Both the traditional Japanese Irori Yaki as well as the French dinner were excellent.

Only a 10-minute walk from Amanohashidate, Amanohashidate Youth Hostel offers affordable dormitory-style accommodations. The local staff was friendly. Given the location, the hostel gets pretty quiet at night. And it's also near to the cable car entrance to go up to kasamatsu park. The communal bathtub was another joy to go for.

Built over 100 years ago, Sakara Miyazu is a holiday home fully renovated in 2017. It has a shared lounge and offers free WiFi throughout the property. There was a very polite and nice person who handed over the keys and explained everything F2F. The location was very quiet. The beds were big and comfortable. The whole place looked like new and was very clean. Washing machine and dryer were working very well. Internet and AC worked well. The parking place is big enough, easy to use and very close.

Lots of tourists on holidays but pretty peaceful on normal days. The beach was great but I think they limit the days you can swim. Nice stroll along the sandbar. Amanohashidate is the main thing, there's nothing much to do in Ine aside from taking the boat tour. It's probably best to take the tour that starts from Amanohashidate and goes straight to Ine if you want to save time.
Miyazu is called "Kyoto by the Sea" and is a great place to visit for it's proximity to several appealing places. Amanohashidate or the "bridge to heaven" is a narrow 3.6 kilometer sandbar which, seen from a nearby mountain with cable car access, is one of the "three great views of Japan." It is also just a short drive or bus ride to Ine, a scenic and charming fishing village. There are temples and shines and just great seaside walks and scenery. We had a great dinner at our ryokan Shinpuro, a nearby restaurant Ogura and the Amanohashidate Winery. The Ine Cafe is a great place to sip coffee and take in the great scenery. Miyazu is accessible by train, bus or car. We used the bus to travel or just walked. We spent our 20th wedding anniversary in Miyazu and were't disappointed.
We only visited Amanohashidate for one day, arriving from Kyoto in the morning and leaving the following morning. We were able to visit the View Park, take in the view and some rides (with my son), and then walk the sandbar and return before dinner. The hotel (Taikyourou) was an amazing traditional inn next to the Chionji Temple and rotating bridge. We enjoyed every minute of our visit to Amanohashidate and wished we could have stayed another day.
Miyazu is an old port town near Amanohashidate. It has great access to the surrounding sights. We stayed overnight and had a good time going to a nearby waterfall (Kanabiki) and eating in a restaurant in town (Tondaya) which had excellent, seafood at low prices. We had a great day going up the Amanohashidate viewing platform and the Nariaji Temple complex. Additionally, Ine, a quaint fishing village, is only a bus ride away!
Perfect weekend trip! Most of the best things to do here revolve around the outdoors, so I recommend visiting when it is warmer. It is also definitely in the countryside, so make sure you are checking bus and train times before so you are not waiting two hours to travel place to place.
Miyazu is quiet once the coach parties an day trippers have gone home. The cable car/ chair lift are well worth a go and take you to a lovely view point. Be aware that most restaurants close between about 5pm and 7.30 pm. We were lucky enough to find one open between these times and had a lovely Japanese meal. It is very quiet in the evenings as most guests eat in the ryokans.

I love this place so much! If you don't mind staying one train station away from Amanohashidate, this is the best place to go (especially if you're with friends/family. The place is clean, beds are so comfy, and you'll have your own kitchen. We were able to cook our own food. Also, the staff are very polite. It was very easy to communicate with the owner, too.

Friendly hotel staff. The staff spoke English and were really helpful. Nice hotel with excellent view of Amanohashidate, perfect for a family trips. The Japanese Style Room was big and included a big full bathroom. Love the public bath. Specially for those that have tattoos and can't shower in the public bath.
The kaiseki dinner and breakfast were delicious and very elaborate. The service was amazing and the couple who took care of us were extremely sweet and accommodating. The lady of the house even walked us to the ferry station so we could visit Amanohashidate, which was a wonderful and unexpected experience!

The owner was very friendly and helpful. We booked with breakfast included which was very nice traditional Japanese breakfast and absolutely worth the money. The common room was big and had anything you would need. Would definitely recommend the hostel!

The garden of the hotel was beautiful and we didn’t even have to go outside of it to find good place to sit and walk and to relaxing. The location was convenient to ride a bicycle around. It is good that the hotel provides a bicycle to rent too.
We chose this hotel because of the choice of in-house restaurants and we were not disappointed. Both the traditional Japanese Irori Yaki as well as the French dinner were excellent.
