We had a wonderful view of Mount Fuji from our balcony! It was awesome to wake up to. The room was very spacious for two people. We were able to easily open our two suitcases without stepping over one another. We loved the yukatas that were provided for us. It was fun to dress up and they were very comfortable. You could even wear them around the hotel, including dinner. As for dinner, we opted to dine in at the hotel on both nights we were there, and the food was delicious and beautifully presented. Don't forget to make reservations. We ordered the grilled beef and tempura. Definitely get the Mount Fuji float drink! The food service was impeccable, as well as the front desk staff. Always so polite and helpful! There's a shuttle bus from the hotel to the nearby station and vice versa - a really short jaunt. Very convenient service! There was also laundry service that we used. Be prepared to have coins with you. We brought our own laundry sheets, but you could also purchase detergent on the premise. On the premise, you'll also find vending machines and a charming souvenir shop. Around the hotel, there are restaurants, jogging paths, and nature trails that you can explore. There's even a nearby supermarket and shopping center with a great view of Mount Fuji! Overall, we had an excellent 2-night stay and would whole heartedly recommend Hotel Regina Kawaguchiko!

We arrived on a very rainy day and were pleasantly surprised the next day when Mt Fuji showed itself in its full glory right from the window of our room. The hotel is a little outdated, but still had all the amenities and comforts. Breakfast was also very good. The location and the resort style cafes/restaurants were also a very pleasant surprise. Unfortunately we only stayed the night, wish we could have stayed longer. The hotel offers free shuttle from the train station, that was a bonus. Highly recommend people stay here and explore the area.

Perfect location. It was amazing to be so close to this beautiful mountain and watch it changing throughout the day. The onsens both have the best views. One has a sauna and mist room and ice cold plunge pools. Rooms very comfortable with views of the mountain. The reception staff were amazing and helped us navigate the bus booking to Tokyo. Book ahead for dinner. All meals were very good.

Amazing location! If the weather allows it, you have a perfect view of Mt. Fuji-san! The staff were amazing, really helpful and even assisted us with ordering food from outside, as we arrived quite late. Also the room had an amazing balcony view of the lake & mountains. The private open air bath was also really great!

When we booked this cabin for a short family vacation, we chose it for the location near planned sight seeing. When we arrived we were pleasantly surprised by the accommodations. The cabin was clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed. The well equipped kitchen met our needs very well. The views out of the window were beautiful, surrounded by trees and a view of the lake and Mt. Fuji. We can't wait to come and stay again!

We had a fantastic time in Fujiyoshida.

We had a fantastic time in Fujiyoshida. The views were absolutely stunning, and we really wished we could have stayed longer to explore more of the area. One of the reasons we visited was to take our children to Fuji-Q Highland, as they were excited to ride the famous roller coasters. Unfortunately, the queues were extremely long—not only for buying tickets but also for the rides themselves. As we were on a tight schedule, we couldn't wait long enough and had to leave without experiencing the roller coasters. Despite that disappointment, we thoroughly enjoyed our visit. The scenery was beautiful, and we'd love to return in the future with more time to explore and, hopefully, finally enjoy Fuji-Q Highland.

Yamanakako is a smaller place, but very good if you want to see Fuji without the massive tourist crowds. Kawaguchiko is about 50 minutes by bus if you want to have more shops. Yamanakako has a few cute cafes and nice restaurants, but depending on where you are staying some might be a bit of a walk, so renting a bike makes life a bit easier. Definitely recommend if you are looking for peaceful vibes!

We chose Gotemba because of it's location to Mt Fuji plus the outlet mall. We probably could have just done a day trip from Tokyo as we only stayed one night so was a rushed stop. The outlet mall wasn't quite like we had expected with homeware shops and other things that travelers would not buy.

Fujinomiya is a pleasant and convenient city, but dining can be a challenge for larger groups. Most restaurants cannot accommodate groups of more than five, so making reservations in advance is highly recommended. Also, after 9pm, the town becomes very quiet, with very few places open.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay here.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay here. Everything exceeded our expectations from the spotless cleanliness to the cozy, homelike atmosphere of the space. It's in a great location, tucked away on a quiet street at the base of Mount Fuji. There are also two golf courses nearby which look great. The space was beautifully maintained, had character, and they even had a snack and drink counter with very generous prices. We really enjoyed having our morning coffees from the living room balcony with uninterrupted views of Mount Fuji. The hosts are very responsive and welcoming, making the entire experience smooth and stress-free. It's clear they put a lot of care into creating a great experience for their guests. They also offer Mount Fuji hiking tours which I am very excited to try next time I visit! We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing, high-quality stay.

We did a one night stop over at Fujikawaguchiko from Tokyo to Kyoto. Having known what I do now, I would have allowed more time at Fujikawaguchiko. We stayed Mizno Hotel which we thoroughly enjoyed. So many things to do all around the lakes. So many hidden treasures. Nemba Village near Lk. Saiko is extraordinary. I recommend renting bicycles around Lake Kawaguchi-ko. And seeing the Pagoda near the house, for example. The temple at the base of Mt Fuji (on the way to Lake Yamanaka-ko is a must. And if you like amusement parks, Fuji Q is right there!

The area was boring.

The area was boring. I would recommend staying near Lake Kawaguchi. It's closer to the sites and has more shops and more touristy. I wasted hours on local tourist buses which are very slow, getting to places with good views of Mt Fuji. While it can easily be seem from Yamanakako, there's no great background to it like being on a ropeway and seeing it. Everything is at Kawaguchi. I wish I read more accurate reviews when I researched.
