Like staying in obaachan house. Very welcoming hosts, good location and fair price for a simple traditional japanese residence.

This is a 90yr old Japanese home. It has the character of an older home (rooms, beds, porch, windows, doors), but with the modern touch (toilet, kitchen, bathroom). The home is very well finished with traditional items but still very comfortable. If you are after a traditional home experience, this is the one to choose.

There are so much green open areas and trails, lakes, waterfalls, ranches, historic sites under the gentle gaze of Mount Fuji. Just gorgeous and less crowded. Getting around even with public buses are easy. Just follow the bus schedule for connecting buses.

It was a nice quiet town with the most amazing UNESCO Heritage Centre, well worth a visit. Because we were there in off season June, the weather was overcast and cloudy and we were unable to see Mt Fuji, but we did get a glimpse of it for about half an hour or so! We didn't realize this is usually the case during these months and the chances of seeing Mt Fuji are quite rare. Had some of the best noodles in Japan there. We went for a walk in the evening through the town and there was no one about, it was bliss... A lot of the bars and restaurants close on a Monday. Private bus tours only run at weekends from 11am to 2pm not during the week, which we didn't know till we got there, but we used public transport and that was fine. Local bus goes to the waterfall and are relatively frequent on a Sunday.( we missed private bus tour)

Loved the Fujisan Hongu Shrine and the Mount Fuji World Heritage Centre nearby. Both are in walking distance of the train station. Had a nice lunch lunch at Fujiboku on the same street as the Shrine. The views of Mt. Fuji were extraordinary.

This is a perfect town to enjoy Mt. Fuji.
This is a perfect town to enjoy Mt. Fuji. Makaino Farm, Lake Tanuki and Shirato Fall are awesome. We had rented a car with Toyota Rent a Car in Fujinomiya. It's very easy and fun to drive in/around the town.

We loved Fujinomiya.
We loved Fujinomiya. It’s pretty quiet, but once we got our bearings and a few tips from our accommodation hosts we had great meals. Can easily see Fuji san. Close to Shrirato falls, and we drove up to Fujinomiya 5th station. The gem of the town is the Fuji World heritage centre. We could only spend a little over an hour there, well worth the visit to understand Fuji better. Easy JR access. Highly recommend and would guess a less crowed way to get to see Fuji, than travelling from Tokyo.

Fujinomiya is a small town dedicated to climbing Fuji-San and taking advantage of the many parks and open spaces that offer hiking. Public transportation is good to other villages. It is not pretentious, the people are quiet and gracious
The museum on Fuji-San is amazing - a must see even if you do not climb
The position was really convenient, just next to the railway and bus station, perfect if you're planning your Mount Fuji hike like we did as the bus departs at the bus station next door.
The staff was very welcoming and nice, they even let us change once we returned the next day from Mount Fuji climb before leaving town, free of charge.
Breakfast was abundant, with good food variety.
Overall a very good hotel.
Tiiiiiiny little hostel right next to Fujinomiya station. The capsules had a bit of a handmade feel to them (plywood ahoy for those eco vibes) but had soundproofing foam inside and you could control the lighting using your phone, which was fun. Staff - super lovely, really helpful.
