Ordered extra breakfast, Fuji from the restaurant window was amazing. It was very close and majestic, unlike the view from the shore of Lake Kawaguchi. I recommend the breakfast included.

This is the place to stay at, while visiting (two nights advisable): absolutely amazing food together with friendly, attentive staff prepares one great for hiking. Oh and the sauna with view of Fuji afterwards is a must.

Location, near the lake, perfect for walks around the lake and great views of Mount Fuji even from the window. The breakfast is amazing-Japanese style, the serving ladies are brilliant, very friendly and positive 😊 Hotel provides the shuttle bus which is convenient, and if corse the Onsen is amazing with the sauna and cold plunge pool !

What we loved the most was the breakfast—a solid 10 out of 10! The traditional Japanese food was spectacular and delicious. It is a traditional hotel with very comfortable tatami floor beds, perfect for anyone who doesn't mind sleeping on the floor. The views of the lake and Mount Fuji from the hotel and its surroundings were beautiful

The hotel has a great view of Mount Fuji to the front. The rooms are small and a little dated, but they are clean and comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was buffet style, mostly Japanese but with a small continental selection. The location is great, not directly in the town but great views over the lake towards mount Fuji, there is also a free shuttle bus to the town that you can book in on at reception.

Amazing location with views of Mount Fuji from our room, a wonderful experience and the meals were absolutely exceptional. Spacious room in a Japanese style Tatami beds and Onsen was fabulous. Hotel staff were incredibly welcoming, polite and helpful.

This is a perfect 1970s hotel that hasn’t really changed much. This hotel is in a super spot with great views to Mount Fuji. Lovely onsen with sauna and cold plunge and an outside bath too. Absolutely delicious Japanese set dinner - the food was outstanding and so yummy. We had a lovely room with a balcony and sitting area overlooking Mount Fuji which was so lovely and went for a lovely walk from the hotel around part of the lake which was beautiful

Mr Kobayashi and his staff made this experience unforgettable. He came out to our car, helped carry our bags in, took a picture of us in front of Mount Fuji, and just went above and beyond to welcome us. The hotel itself allowed us to fully immerse ourselves into Japanese culture and customs. We were provided with traditional pyjamas, slept in futons in a traditional Japanese style room, and enjoyed the evening in the onsen. I wish we spent more time here and if I even go back to Japan, I wouldn’t think twice about staying here again.

The ryokan was absolutely wonderful. The room was excellent, the service was impeccable, the food was delicious, and the view of Mount Fuji was breathtaking. Staying at Maruei Hotel was one of the highlights of our trip to Japan—everything was perfect.

Everything was incredible. We even saw Mount Fuji during our stay, both during the day and the night time. The bathtub was amazing, the room was very spacious and comfortable. The private onsens were fantastic. The breakfast was tasty and provided lots of variety (traditional Japanese and Western food). The free shuttle service to Kawaguchiko Station was very practical and they also accepted our forwarded luggage reliably. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful.

This is the best apartment I have stayed in while traveling in Japan. You can clearly see Mount Fuji from every room in the house if the weather is nice. The apartment is fully equipped and very warm during the winter

Didn't have much time looking around to find that out. But from the Country Ban, one gets a good view of Mt Fuji & its surroundings if its a good day.
