It is a bit outside Shela, but not that far and a nice village walk.

Jannat house is very very romantic! The house is built in typical Swahili style and it lies in the centre of Lamu. It is super cosy, beautiful, rustic with many beautiful plants around and an amazing small pool in the centre of the house, next to a bar. The highlight (besides romantic style of the house with many balconies and stairs) were the people working there! Caroline and the rest of the staff were amazing! super cool, helpful, constantly around making sure we have everything we need. They also prepare the freshest food and the breakfasts were great. Thank you so so much fot this beautiful experience! They are also well known in Lamu and well conected and can help you with tips on where to go and how to reach it. Great!! The property is by the ocean walking distance from the UNESCO site and the town. It was neat and clean. WiFi and security is 💯. It was value for money for sure. Zion was a super host. They organized a boat from Manda Airport. We enjoyed our stay 😍.

Upon entrance it was like stepping into an oasis from the narrow, but cozy streets of Lamu Town. The architecture was stunning and its aesthetics and functionality impressive. As the house is glass and roof free the natural ventilation was a constant fresh and cool breeze in 30 degrees celsius weather. The house help Jamuhuri had the kindest soul. Everything felt safe and it always felt like coming home because he was there. The house was always clean and Jamuhuri was always ready to help with anything we needed. Asante sana!

The Majlis Resort is located in Lamu with views of the Ras Kitau Bay on Manda Island. Our overall stay was wonderful! Staff was very friendly and helpful. The resort itself is beautiful. We loved how quiet it was. This resort is small, and we enjoyed not having a lot of people around.
