I really liked the stay at Garden House, it was a great surprise in Alajuela. Excellent value for money, good location, and the people who work there are very kind and helpful. Plus, there’s a beautiful garden in the back of the hostel.

The host was super friendly and even gave us a ride after check-out to las Peñas. The hostal house is very nice, it even has a roof top terrace. And it has a pool in which you can actually swim.

Perfectly located on the sea foreshore this is a real gem. Axel and Cathy were great cooks and helped us with everything we asked. If you want a quiet, beautifully maintained seaside hotel this is the perfect place. Las Penitas is an extremely quiet village so don't stay here if you want a bustling nightlife. For people who love beaches, good cooking and tranquility it's perfect. If you get a chance, go on the excursion to see the Turtle Egg protection project, my last photo.

Alive Beach House features an outdoor swimming pool, garden, a shared lounge and terrace in El Tránsito. Providing a bar, the property is located within a few steps of El Transito Beach.

Loved our stay here. Nestled in the trees we had a view of the beach and waves breaking where we could watch the surf. Hammocks super comfy in shaded areas and a pool for cooling off. The staff were all lovely and super helpful. Warm showers and aircon which is I think pretty unusual in El transito.

What an unbelievable view! Fantastic beach and pool views, absolutely friendly and lovely staff, reasonably priced. The front rooms overlooking the pool are so well appointed, comfortable and clean. Great value that includes breakfast and movement classes in an idyllic location.
