Miguel was the ultimate host. He provided us with a tour of the property upon arrival and then provided itineraries for each day based on what we wanted to see on the island via our rental car. He was available 24/7 via WhatsApp for any questions including providing a self walking tour of the Christmas lights. The rooftop bar/pool area was very nice with views of the city. Having access to free laundry on the fifth floor was very convenient. The fresh pastries on the doorknob in the morning ❤️

Great central location, 5 minute walk down to the sea, activities, restaurants etc. The hotel is fresh, clean, has a roof top pool and bar for the moments when you aren’t sightseeing. And the staff are so friendly and helpful. Fab buffet breakfast.

Casa das Proteas har udsigt over Atlanterhavet og ligger på Estrada das Covas no8, São Jorge, Madeira, 50 km fra Funchal. Beliggenheden er fremragende som udgangspunkt for flere vandreture. The place is lovely, very private and calm. It's so beautiful there. The owners are the kindest and make you feel like family, very resolutive and helpful with everything. The sea views form our terrace were amazing. We stayed in 4 places douring our trip and I'm confident in saying this was the BEST one!! + There's a lonely kitty

Dette designhotel ligger på en istandsat traditionel bondegård, på en klippe ud mod Atlanterhavet. Delicious breakfast, exceptional dinner and an infinite pool. For breakfast, you could choose from 5-6 warm meals (eggs, French toast, asparagus..) and a cold buffet (from cereals, croissants and local cheese to pastel de nata). The portions from the menu were smaller but in combination with the cold buffet, the breakfast was just awesome! We stayed in the with the "garden view ", however we could still see and hear the sea. The view was stunning.

The room was tastefully decorated, every detail, from the design to the little touches, added to the overall charm. Breakfast was fresh and delicious and what really stood out was the service — friendly, helpful, and always with a smile. We felt completely relaxed, surrounded by beauty, nature, and peace. Truly one of the most beautiful places we’ve ever stayed. We truly didn’t want to leave. Can’t wait to return to this little piece of paradise!

Located close to Funchal’s city centre, overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, Meliã Madeira Mare offers free WiFi, an indoor and outdoor pool and a spa. When I realized I had forgotten my phone charger at my hotel in Lisbon and started to panic, the staff kindly let me use the reception area to charge my phone. I was truly saved — I do really thank the wonderful female staff member enough for her kindness!
