Perfect location right next to a river walking path. We were also working during the day so we used the common lounge room which had comfortable tables and chairs and strong WiFi with a view overlooking the river and mountain. Having the bar and restaurant right on the property also made it easy to enjoy a drink outside or take a break from making our own food to enjoy lunch there. The apartment and property was perfectly clean, the staff super friendly and helpful, we even extended our stay one extra night so that we could enjoy the mountains one more day after working most of the week there. So tranquil with a nice mountain view, the staff are all nice and helpful, the apartment is clean and comfy, lots of activities to do which is included in the package. Pet friendly is number one criteria I look for in a place. . I've never experienced a place (Andorra as a whole) where they don't descriminate dogs. They are even allowed inside restaurants👍. My family and I enjoyed very much our stay.. I will definitely recommend this place to my friends and to those who are reading my comment. I was there for the World MTB championships and the organisation for getting to and from the bike park was excellent. There were plenty of buses available to the gondola to access the bike park. Ordino is a picture postcard village, with a number of smaller villages and hamlets dotted all the way up the valley towards the Arcalis ski area. Each village/hamlet has its own local bar(s) and restaurant(s). Ordino being larger has a few more. The town of La Massana is 2 km from Ordino and is well provided for shopping and nightlife options. The skiing and snowboarding at Arcalis is excellent. Being north-facing and above 8000 feet the season generally lasts longer than the other Andorran areas. Facilities are first class. Runs cater from complete beginner to freeride expert and much in between. It's a great wee ski area in a beautiful part of the world. Small very quite village in between more lively Arinsal and La Massana each only a half hour or so walk away. Handy free places to park if you wanted to explore the walking tracks. Easy base to drive to other locations. Family ski trip with a 8 and 6 year old.
Family ski trip with a 8 and 6 year old. The resort is very good for beginners and intermediates. Everyone working here in all areas seemed friendly. We all had ski school which was all at the same time and oddly morning four hours lessons were split to 09:00-12:00 and 15:00-16:00. This meant a lot of time was wasted dropping off kids and getting to lessons/waiting for people to arrive as it was twice per day. And we couldn't really go do anything else if we wanted to attend the afternoon hour lesson. Our instructors were all very good during the lessons though. We also paid for lockers at the top of the gondola but they didn't open till 15 minutes before lessons started 5 minutes away, resulting in a mad rush of lots of people trying to get ski boots on in a small space all at the same time. The resort was not that busy when we were there, but the bars/restaurants on the slopes filled very quickly and it was often a wait to get a table for lunch. ACCESS TO VALLNORD (ARINSAL & PAL) IS EASY FOR THOSE WANTING TO SKI IN THESE TWO RESORTS. Great resort for skiing at a beginner/intermediate level. Beginners will blossom with fantastic ski schools. Intermediates can ski in Arinsal and take the gondola across to Pal on the other side of the mountain so more choice of skiing. Great bars and food in the restaurants is excellent. La Massana is a nice base for exploring Andorra if you want to be outside of ALV (whch is only a 15 minute drive). It's got a good selection of restaurants and shops, and it's easy to get around to see the rest of the country from there.
