1. the hotel was stunning surrounding by mountain and lake. 2. the staffs were really friendly, they also gave us an very early check-in. 3. The breakfast had a good quality and everything was delicious. 4. The indoor pool was absolutely perfect, there are two pool, for kids and adult. 5. The room was cozy, it have a microwave and the complete kitchenette. 6. If you use a public transport, the bus stop is in front of the hotel and the train station (Obertraun) just a few couple steps away. 7. There is big park for the children in front of the lake.

This hut is privately run by a family from Nepal. Our stay there felt so very peaceful, and the food was lovely. The location is absolutely beautiful. Really enjoyed being there. We hiked down to Hallstatt from there, and the trail was very well maintained and offered amazing views.

    We stayed here because we couldn’t find a family room in Hallstätt. We are so thankful it worked out that way. The service at the hotel was fantastic- especially Thomas. The breakfasts were all fresh and homemade everything. We had our own breakfast table reserved for us for the entire stay. Wonderful start to the day! The 4 course dinner was also delicious. Bad Goisern is absolutely lovely. The stream that the hotel is on is stunning. We went to halstatt for the day and all of us said it was so refreshing to come back to our hotel to be away from the touristy feel - although we did enjoy our day there and the salt mine tour. The next day we went on a beautiful bike ride (bikerworld was helpful) from Bad Goisern to Obertraun where we swam in the lake. Amazing! Overall, I would definitely stay here again! We especially loved that it felt like we saw the daily life of Austrians in BG as there was live music with the locals all of the nights we were there. Highly recommend BG and this hotel!

    If you come to Hallstad by car, this hotel is for you! The location of the hotel is excellent, from the window we could see the salt mine, the historical part is just around the corner. The staff is very welcoming and was able to resolve the issue since we did not specify a child and our room was not designed for three. The problem has been resolved, but this can be critical if the hotel does not have additional options, so be sure to inform the hotel about this if you are planning a trip with a child. Thank you ladies! The hotel has parking, but there is no guarantee, we were lucky.

    We have enjoyed the staying in the hotel a lot. Hotel services are at the high level. Staff is friendly. We had half board with all inclusive drink option. We recommend this combination for all who want to do treks in the country around. Meal was good - no disappoinment. Moreover, a few meals were super exceptional - paella with seafood, and nougat balls with fruit sauce. I can't ommit mentioning and recommending wine. Wine was good

    Beautiful place to visit. Better staying overnight - get up early or go out after the day trippers have left town to appreciate the atmosphere and beauty. Go do the caves, five fingers etc during the day.

    We travelled with 3 different trains from Vienna to...

    We travelled with 3 different trains from Vienna to Obertraun in order to visit Hallstat. Unfortunately, the transportation wasn't very convenient for us. One of the trains that we had arranged was late and we had to wait two more hours in order to get the last train to Obertraun. We departed from Vienna at 8:00 and we arrived to Obertraun at 15:30! Obertraun was very close to Hallstat. Hallstat is a magical place but next time I would prefer to visit it by car.

    Gosau had everything we needed for a wonderful, relaxing holiday - a grocery store, multiple restaurants, beautiful views, friendly people, and many trails for hiking, biking, and walking. Additionally, Gosausee is only a short drive away. We didn't leave Gosau during our entire stay, as there were plenty of things to do, including just relaxing.

    We stayed in Hallstatt for 3 nights, using it as our base to explore the surrounding area. It was a good choice as the Boutique Hotel Strand we stayed in offers a panoramic view of the lake. It was so peaceful and tranquil sitting on the balcony and admiring the views. Staying in Hallstatt gave us the opportunity to explore the town in the early morning and late evening hours when it is less crowded with day-trip tourists. However, dinner options in Hallstatt were limited as most restaurants/hotels do not take reservations and also close early at 8pm or 9pm.

    The accommodation had great view and the balcony was so Cousy, I could sit whole evening there to spend some quality time. The location is beautiful and relaxing. My kids enjoyed lot. Special thanks to providing such a variety of toys and activity stuff for kids, they really got occupied with activities while at apartment.

    Stay in beautiful Obertraun instead of the overpriced and crowded Hallstatt! We stayed 3 nights in a lovely accommodation Haus Edelweiss, and following the recommendations of lovely host Nina, we spent one day walking from Obertruan to Hallstatt. Along the way, we saw this stone path going up the hill and we went up (very do-able hike), and it led to a very beautiful view of Hallstatt! We then went down the other way and continued walking towards Hallstatt, explored the beautiful village and took the ferry (Euro 12/pax) back to Obertruan. Next day, we walked a loop from Obertruan to Koppenwinlsee. The walk was very lovely and we saw tiny red strawberries everywhere! There was a restaurant after Koppenwinslee but I think it was closed on Mon-Wed (please check), and other days open for lunch & dinner, so time yourself to make it in time for lunch/dinner. We were stopping so often to admire the scenery that we missed their lunch time! It is better to visit during non-summer to enjoy Austria.

    Gosau is getting really popular among the tourist who want to visit places in Austria. Closer to Hallstatt, it offers serenity and options to hike, do rock climbing and ride mountain bikes. Gosau lake was beautiful and the hike around it is mesmerizing with some magnificent sights.

    Bring cash!! Most places would not take the credit card. Also, plan to have your dinner early because nobody served food after 8pm, not on the 2 nights we were there (a Friday and Saturday!). Apart from that, it was stunningly beautiful and quiet on a night when all the day tourists have gone home.

    Small town, 10 min from Hallstatt and lake, and 15 min from Dachstein Krippenstein (Mamoth and Ice caves, Glacier and mass of tracks...) Much easer and chipper to stay at Bad Goisern. You have in mind that everything is closed after 7 PM, so do shopping and have dinner before... or eat pizza...
