Hallstatt was an amazing village with scenery you dream of. Everywhere you look it was beautiful. It is easy to walk to the village lookout, museum, and throughout the main parts of the town- everything is close together. Be aware that the cafes and restaurants may not always be open when you might be hungry, especially in the off season. It is a quieter village, but everyone seemed friendly and happy to help.
Hallstatt had been on my bucket list and I was not disappointed Beautiful place. The only disappointment is no snow in town. Our lodging is in a very scenic position and the landlady is responsive and lovely lady
This sweet little village seems to be suffering from over-tourism. There were FOUR big tour busses full of Asian peoples here when we arrived. Why? I asked Google…..Well, this town was used as the model for Disney’s animated film Frozen! The spectacular UNESCO view above the village is where Elsa built her ice castle! AND in China they built a duplicate village because they appreciate this landscape so much. So now we know….There are organized tours that go through the region and Hallstatt is a major destination.
Hallstatt is a beautiful serene place in the alps. Highly beautiful small town with excellent access to the train. Visiting the salt mines is a unique experience too. Its certainly the thing that one should not miss. Boating in Hallstatt lake is an out of world experience where one feels like the time has stopped. Most people visit here for only a day, but I would recommend to visit for 2 nights stay. One can take long walks, ride bicycle to Obertraun and enjoy boating.
Beautiful scenery. Busy busy busy during summer. Restaurants and drink outlets close early evening. In general, service staff not able to maintain friendly attitudes towards travelers. It may be better during non-holiday periods?
Adorable little UNESCO village with breathtaking views. The water is perfect for a swim in the hot summer. There are a few lovely restaurants by the lake, and we were lucky enough to be there when there weren't that many visitors. I personally love how organized the village is. All visitors are required to park in designated parking areas and from there, there are shuttles that will take you to your hotels or you can choose to walk. Definitely check with the hotels you book about shuttle times. Tip for non tap water drinkers: The tap water in Hallstatt is superior and will not taste like your rusty city tap water ;-)
Staff was not willingness, we had no transport from the parking to the hotel, after 2 km of walking with all bags to the reception, we went another many hundert meters to the building of accomodation. There was not lift and we were in the 3. floor. Never more, breakfast under lever of 4* hotel. No reception 24 hours, nobody could help us when we could not oper the door before midnight, we paid 20 EUR for 2 km for taxi on the way back. I asked to return my money, no answer till today... Disaster, never more to stay in Hallstatt in this hotel.
The hotel is perfectly located in Hallstatt. We loved that it is just a minute from the center. We never met such a lovely, always smiling, helpful team, as we met at Seewirt Zauner. We were always welcomed and when the hotel and the restaurant were completly crowded Sandra, Sepp and Daniela was smiling and provided the best ever service. We are still under the experince we had at Seewirt Zauner and we will come back for sure next year.
Hallstatt
Everything is perfect at the hotel, that our second time to book and stay there , will always recommend it for anyone who wants to be in the center of hallstatt with a great view on the lake and the marktplatz with authentic vintage hotel rooms, the staff is really friendly , and the garden over looking the lake is the best in town
Hallstatt
Such a quaint property with very kind folks working there :) Ava (sp?) at breakfast and the owner, Thomas were both warm and welcoming! The room was comfortable, clean, and modern and ours had a balcony overseeing the cutest square in Hallstatt. We loved our stay and will be back!!! It truly is in the middle of everything!
Hallstatt
The staff was very helpful and friendly. Prices were reasonable, compared to many of the other hotels in Hallstatt. The hotel is located just outside of the centre, but at only a couple of minutes walking distance. A tiny island from where you can actually swim in the lake is also at walking distance.
Hallstatt
The hotel is at the very heart of Hallstatt, but in a quiet corner, so you can enjoy birds singing in the morning. We had a very spacious room with two balconies, one of which was with a fantastic view of the town, lake and mountains.
Hallstatt
The host, Ulrike was warm, welcoming and showed us around, answering questions and checking in periodically should we need anything. Location is close to everything in Hallstatt. Parking is free.
this hotel is the perfect location. it is in the main square and everything is an easy walk. it is the place to be. the rooms are tight quarters for the price but the location makes it worth it.
really nice and stylish hotel within a short walking distnance to the beautiful town of hallstatt. the hotel manager was incredibly friendly and accomodating, would stay again!
Hallstatt
This spot is beautiful and definitely has the best rooms in Hallstatt! The balconies had perfect views. The hotel itself is true to the city itself — charming and historic.
