- From $175.67 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.8Excellent - What previous guests thought, 286 reviewsCLEAN! Friendly staff, especially Gabi who wore many hats as one of the owners! The food was delicious for breakfast and dinner! Thank you, Monika! The atmosphere was relaxed yet professional. The staff is top notch ready to help you but they didn't pressure us, either. They are gracious and relaxed but somehow they are quick to serve your needs. Cool! Thank you, Gabi! You have a wonderful staff. We never felt rushed or pressured to do this or that. The young brunette girl waitress was very pleasant as was the other owner, Monika who I believe is in charge of the kitchen and all dining. We were lucky to hear a live band play authentic Austrian/German music. We really enjoyed the music! Monika and Gabi are sister-in-laws. Sara in the office was very patient answering all of my email questions, too. Thank you! If you are looking for a CLEAN, safe, reasonably-priced gem of a hotel with delicious food to savor your vacation, Hotel Maximilian will be your best bet! The room was just right! We liked having a balcony with chairs and a little table to just gaze at the mountains that surorund the hotel. The bar lounge area was comfy as were the restaurant seats and the outdoor patio. It was an easy drive to see Lake Plansee and Oberammagau and Fussen in Germany to see Ludwig's famous Cinderella Castle. Don't miss this hotel treasure if you are in the Ehenbichl/Reutte - Tyrol area. We only had 3 nights. Next time we will stay for at least one week! We never even got to hike by Lake Plansee. NEXT time! Thank you Gabi and Monika!Guest review byStevenUnited States
- From $185.86 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.7Excellent - What previous guests thought, 229 reviewsReutte is a small town over the border from Germany in Austria. We stayed there between visiting Hohenschwangau and Neuschwanstein castles and Linderhof Palace. It was a 20 minute drive from Hohenschwangau. The hotel had free parking on site. They had two parking lots, one behind the hotel and a smaller one across the street. There are signs at each parking lot letting you know it belongs to the hotel. We were able to check-in with the German confirmation provided by booking.com (they spoke a little English). Our room was way more spacious than we expected. We booked for 3 adults. It had two bedrooms each with a queen size bed, a small sitting area, shelving for luggage and clothes and a balcony. The room had a separate toilet room and a room with a shower and sink. It also had a full kitchen (although it was closed we could make use of the refrigerator). There was also a table and chairs and a living room with a TV. Very nice. The hotel looked like there was an older section and a newer section, I think we were in the newer section. Breakfast was provided and was buffet style. There were cereals, meats and cheeses and bread, yogurts, juice, eggs. Everything was great.Guest review byMeghanUnited States
- From $189.08 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.2Wonderful - What previous guests thought, 132 reviewsMy girlfriend and I had a great stay here. The staff is incredibly friendly and inviting. We were tired from our hike, so we didn't get as social with them as I would have liked, but we had nice small conversations together. The atmosphere of the hotel is very cozy and has gentle music playing in the background. The room itself was very clean and nice. Everything was fantastic! I would come back if I traveled to the region again.Guest review byKevinGermany
- From $179.19 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.4Very Good - What previous guests thought, 1,722 reviewsExtraordinary little hidden gem! Short drive to Neuschwanstein castle. Quintaessencial Tyrol experience. Jaw dropping views from the balcony. Immaculately cleaned and well maintained. Elevator, and free onsite parking. Full spa experience at the basement level: jacuzzi, infrared, steam room, sauna, wow! The level of hospitality here, as well as in its sister property Alpenhotel Ernberg is UNPARALLEL! 5-stars!! ✨✨✨✨✨Guest review byNellyMexico
- From $216.66 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.5Very Good - What previous guests thought, 1,382 reviewsWe used this hotel as a pitstop, it would be suitable also for a few days exploring. The staff were really excellent, both friendly and professional. We had a very lovely room on the top floor with amazing views of the mountains. Room was a decent size with large bathroom ensuite. Restaurant was first class. Free car parking which is always a bonus.Guest review byChrisUnited Kingdom
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.7Excellent - What previous guests thought, 1,710 reviewsThe elder couple that runs the hotel is very friendly. The location and interior, especially breakfast space, make you feel like you are in the traditional Alps house. The view to mountains is gorgeous and the breakfast is good, there is something to choose from for everybody. Enjoyed the stay very much and I would consider staying here again!Guest review byAgnėLithuania

It is a beautiful area with many nice walks to do.
It is a beautiful area with many nice walks to do. We were there when it was snowing and the frozen ice and snow was beautiful. The ski field is very close by, however the slopes are very challenging and only suitable for those who have grown up on skis.Guest review byReginaNew Zealand - 8.0
I would recommend the high wire for an adventure.
I would recommend the high wire for an adventure. The view of Reutte from above is amazing. And the history of the castle ruins gives an incite to life in the area long ago. There are also very beautiful lakes for walks and the alps for hiking and skiing.Guest review byDiannaAustralia
