The room design, the view from windows, the balcony which was divided in two (1 for the cold season, 1 for the warm season), the wellness area, the restaurant, the fact that wherever you went, there were pots filled with apples, full of taste and you could serve yourself at any time. The kids play ground. The nice/warm rest area at the reception. Everything in this hotel is thought out to the smallest detail. Behind the hotel is a train station and we had a connection to Salzburg every half hour. At the reception we received free tickets for public transport for the 3 days, for the whole family (2 adults+2 kids). We were completely pampered at this hotel. I definitely recommend it.

We were very pleased with our experience at this family hotel. The hotel and rooms were very clean, and the location is perfect for traveling by car. As a bonus, they offer discounts and free visits to a private lake. The hotel owners are ready to help with anything you need and can offer advice on how to spend your time in the area. The location is amazing!!! Bad Vigaun is an amazing place to stay in and have a great morning walk/jog or workout. The view from the room is breathtaking, you won't want to leave. The hotel design is unique, very elegant and luxurious. We stayed at the junior suite, it is big, has a great balcony to sit in and just enjoy the view. The staff a so helpful and welcoming. I like the close parking spaces just to go through the check-in process, though the regular parking lot is a few steps from the reception. Highly recommended!!

Dear Dachsteinresort Team, I wanted to take a moment to express our gratitude for the wonderful experience we had during our recent stay at your property. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed with big smiles, which immediately made us feel at home. Our family room was absolutely amazing—spacious, immaculately clean, and beautifully designed. We were thrilled to find that the kitchen was fully equipped with everything we needed, making our stay even more convenient and comfortable. The on-site restaurant was a real lifesaver, especially since we arrived late and found that all nearby restaurants were closed. The manager went out of their way to accommodate us, allowing us to order delicious food that made for a perfect late-night meal. The facilities at the hotel were top-notch. Our kids absolutely loved the outdoor pool, which was a great bonus as it was free for hotel guests. The breakfast each morning was perfect, offering a wide variety of options to start our day right. Overall, we couldn't have asked for a better experience. We highly recommend Dachsteinresort to anyone looking for a perfect getaway, and we will definitely be returning in the future. Thank you once again for making our stay so memorable! Best regards, Azran Family

The area around the hotel is absolutely beautiful and very quiet. There’s a cable car going up the mountain and an alpine slide coming down — my son even rode the slide in the morning! The hotel’s restaurant was a great surprise. We arrived at dinnertime and weren’t sure where to eat, so we just went in — and the food turned out to be excellent! Traditional Austrian dishes, very tasty lamb and beef, and the prices were very reasonable. very good value. best dinner we had during the 10 days trip. The interior of the hotel is also much nicer than it looks in the online photos. Overall, a great stay — peaceful, scenic, and very good value.

Beautiful setting, fantastic view of the Untersberg!

Beautiful setting, fantastic view of the Untersberg! Clean, comfortable, a perfect place for a couple to stay. A grocery store (Spar) is a short drive away at the bottom of the hill, providing everything one needs. There are a number of hotels/restaurants in Puch with excellent Austrian specialties. A car is a must! It's possible to get around by public transportation, but not optimal. Romana (owner) is a very warm and helpful lady -- she made our stay memorable!

Golling is a long established small town on the Salzach river and a good base for exploring Salzburg and the nearby hills / mountains. Hotels are in the small town centre plus camping and camper van facilities nearby. Rail travel to Salzburg and on buses in Salzburg is free for holders of the Tourist Card issued without further charge to people staying at Golling hotels, This facility has recently been extended to other buses and trains over a wider area, Golling Waterfall and the canyon (Klamm) on the Salzach river attract visitors, There is a Water Park close to Golling.

What were your favourite places there?

What were your favourite places there? The Sommerrodelbahn, The Cable Car, The Postalm Panoramastrasse and the drive through Fischbach. What we highly recommend is a nice walk through the town and surrounding places itself!! This is a very very pretty place. Where did you eat? We cooked ourselves. However, we bought groceries at the Spar market in the town. Is it easy to get around Abtenau? Yes. The town is very accessible. We, however, did not use the public transport. What would you avoid on your next visit? Nothing really. The place offers a lot of things to a tourist!

Recommendation:

Recommendation: For kids - Geister Wald (Ghost forest) - 4,5km long hike with fun activities for kids. Our kids loved them. Just to be aware - you need to pick up from the info center a map where kids could get stamps and also you need 2euro coin to get a wooden ball from the machine you can find just at the start of the hike. Small store - very helpful staff, all the basics you need you find there Waterpark - great nature pool to chill with kids

The small town where I found accommodation is called...

The small town where I found accommodation is called Dürrnberg. As I drove to the hotel before my gig, the road climbed and climbed, winding through the mountains. I was a little worried that the roads wouldn't be safe enough going down the slopes on the ice, but oh well, I kept going until I found the small hotel. From what little I could gather, it's a town with very deep cultural roots, with Celtic settlements dating back to around 400 BC. The town takes its name from a church belonging to a religious congregation called Maria Dürrnber. Historically, the town is important thanks to a salt mine, which has been extracted from underground tunnels for many years. The Church of Maria in Dürrnberg is a well-known pilgrimage site and is surrounded by a stone wall, known as the wall of pagan witches. I hope you enjoy what I managed to capture with my camera. I also love the mountains of the Dürrnberg plateau.

A must-see for those interested in Celts and Mining.

A must-see for those interested in Celts and Mining. The "Salzbergwerk Dürrnberg" is much much more interesting, than the overfamous "Salzbergwerk Hallstatt". Celtic Museum in Hallein ist really of value. The town itself has a very limited number of places to dine. Decent train connection to Salzburg, savin You a lot of money and a most boring view of Salzburg after 5 p.m.
