Clean and quiet. The bbq facilities out back were handy. Room was very comfortable for the 3 of us. I would stay again as it had parking for the boat on the property and was well priced.

Loved being able to bring our furry family member with us! The place is very nice and very close to the river. Lovely and spacious gardens too with parrots hanging about. Check-in was simple. Even the cleaner we met on our way out was exceptionally friendly and was able to share some info about the area. Grand experience overall!

It was super quiet location and the cabin was spacious. Fly wire screens on all the windows meant you could let the cabin cool down without needing the aircon on too much. Loved the big trees around and the birds singing first thing in the morning too.

Great little setup close enough to the main street to walk every where. My husband commented on how some people have a knack for home decoration. This cottage is somewhere we would definitely come back to stay.

A very clean and comfortable property in a location of beautiful scenery. On arrival the lights had been turned on and the reverse cycle air conditioner was warming up the living area. The beds were very comfortable and the electric blanket ensured a most sound and restful sleep.

Daughter and Grandson live in Bonnie Doon so I am a bit biased, its a great base for travelling round the area, lovely town of Mansfield about 15 mins drive away and the High Country is nicely accessible along with Mt Buller if you are a winter skier, so many great places to visit, Whitfield, Jamieson, Stringy Bark Creek (read about Ned Kelly) to name a tiny few

Howqua and surrounding areas are absolutely stunning in...

Howqua and surrounding areas are absolutely stunning in Autumn. I really enjoyed the wander around the lake foreshore at Howqua Inlet, as well as Jamieson township and the Goulburn River. A stop at Jamieson Brewery and Grill for more stable wifi and beer paddle with lunch. Highly recommend also heading out to Watsons Mountain Country Trail Rides for a spectacular views from the 'Man from Snowy River' horse-ride. Downside - Howqua is a deadspot for internet, so make sure you have the GPS route written down somewhere too as a back up. Free wifi included at the Black Sparrow if you are staying there, but it is pretty glitchy for someone working remotely. Head into Jamieson (10 mins down the road) for a more stable connection.

Love Eildon, going to the weir, nice trip to Alexandra, nothing much in Eildon, very cold wet and slushy this time of year. I realise if you want good accommodation you have to pay a lot more than we did, unfortunately what I read in the reviews was nothing like it was, so it wasn’t an accurate description.

A small town with minimal shopping and activities. However, it was very quiet and only a short drive to Mansfield. It would be a great place to base yourself to discover and explore the surrounding areas.

Howqua and Jamieson are beautiful peaceful areas with lots to do if you enjoy walking, photography, wine, relaxing and unwinding. Mansfield is about a half hour drive away and is a vibrant centre with excellent shops and quality places to eat such as the Mansfield Regional Produce Store.

Spectacular scenery - rivers, mountains, small towns with good facilities and the beautiful Lake Eildon. A photographer's delight! Or bushwalker, fisherman, boater, kayaker or general tourist. Plenty to do and see. Only short distances between towns around Eildon.
