Check in was a breeze and the friendly front desk staff gave me a beautiful room on a high floor with a fantastic view! The location was great - close to plenty of restaurants and local tourist activities. Every morning, the plentiful, complimentary continental breakfast buffet, with lots of fresh fruit and juices coffee, tea, a delicious assortment of pastries, hard boiled eggs, toast, jams and jellies, cereal etc. were available. The hotel is very clean and everything in my room worked properly. I highly recommend Oaks Darwin to anyone staying there.

The staff was helpful, the restaurant(s) were wonderful and the location was superb. I really enjoyed how close it was to everything in town, and how easy it was to get to from the airport. Excellent caravan park located just outside of Alice Springs. We stayed one night in one of the two-bedroom units on our way back from visiting Uluru. The unit was clean, well appointed and comfortable. The bouncing pillow and waterslide were clear favorites for my 10 and 12 year old girls. If you have children, they will love it here!

Most of all we enjoyed the July weather in Darwin.

Most of all we enjoyed the July weather in Darwin. It is so nice that we can have summer weather in winter in Australia. There are quite a number of attractions to see in Darwin. We enjoyed the crocodile park with the jumping-crocodile boat ride. The aqua scene with the fish was well worth attending. There was such a variety of fish with a detailed live commentary about them. The royal flying doctor museum on the wharf is very informative. The lunch-time harbour cruise was special - good view of Darwin city and beaches as well as the catering superb. Our hire car made it so easy to get around.

Beautiful country.

Beautiful country. Many places of interest to visit like the Royal Flying Doctor Service. Lots of places to eat and for coffee. The walk to the Telegraph Station along the Todd River is a must. Then a visit to the Station and then something to eat after. Also the shops in Todd Mall are worth a visit like the Red Kangaroo bookshop and galleries .

Kakadu National Park is a unique nature experience, which we both enjoyed. Excessive wet season flooding meant that several of the parks iconic attractions were closed due to flood damage. However, this made the park overall greener and more interesting. Please note that outback Northern Territory is remote and substantially more expensive than the rest of Australia for holidays and travelling. Our overnight accommodation using Glamping tents at Cooinda Lodge Kakadu I would rate at 2 stars, they are not well cleaned, not very spacious, are not self-contained (no cooking or cutlery facilities) and very expensive at $600AU per night. Meals at Cooinda Lodge were expensive.

I was most impressed with Batchelor, because it seemed that all the lodges, pubs and restaurants in and around Batchelor remained open in spite of all the flooding and challenging travel conditions in the area! Everyone I encountered working in Batchelor demonstrated a positive, friendly, helpful and understanding towards me and my friends!

It is pretty close to Uluru which is why we stayed there. The pool looked alright but we didn't have the time to get in really. The food in the restaurant was good. I am not sure, but it seemed the fuel was relatively expensive, so I think next time I might fuel up a bit further away from the Uluru turnoff. Fuel is expensive at Uluru too. The surroundings were peaceful. Rooms were basic and might have easily been more hospitably set up but were clean.
