The trams were fanastic, free within the city. Victoria market had a good selection of meat, fish, fruit and vegetables. Really enjoyed the goal and the Melbourne star. The gondola at Arthurs Saddle was overpriced.
Great city and hospitality. Transportation is easy. I like the Queen Victoria Market very much. Love the fresh seafood and fruits.
Melbourne is a cozy city. We found many places of destination. City walk tour to enjoy the city like a local. Laying on the grass of Carlton garden, pick some fish n chips with a cup of coffee, sight seeing some souveniers at Queen Victoria Market. Go by bus to city if you’re travelling alone from Tullamarine airport, or take a taxi if you’re travelling 4 persons or more.
Melbourne is a big city so the free trams that go around the city are fantastic. Saves a lot of walking. We enjoyed the boat trip on the Yarra and our ride on the Melbourne Star. Our self drive trip along the Great Ocean Road was absolutely beautiful and so was our visit to Philip Island to see the penguin parade. An invigorating climb up the Grand Canyon track at the Grampians was a highlight and we enjoyed our one night stay at Halls Gap where kangaroos were grazing outside our motel room and cockatoos were very tame and friendly. We also enjoyed our trip to Ballarat where we visited Sovereign Hill and went down a gold mine. Fantastic holiday all round. Shame it had to end as there is so much more to explore in Victoria.
Arriving at Melbourne Airport has been easy. People are nice, warm and helpful. Hassle free transferring to CBD. The day to day weather during autumn are unpredictable, so do ensure to check the daily forecast so you’ll not have a problem with your plans. I love the southgate, Fed Square, NGV, Docklands, the free trams and transporation system is so easy, though getting packed at times especially during rush hour, I love exploring the gardens & free parks. Going suburbs will give you a brighter side of Melbourne & Victoria. I will definitely come back to Melbourne.
Melbourne is the best city in the world !! I go there as much as possible coming from the other side of Australia to visit. So many incredible restaurants , great bars and cafes. Shopping is wonderful . Good markets in Prahran and at Queen Vic in the city. Beautiful parks and gardens to enjoy. The art galleries in the city always have great shows. The sport is a big draw card . So many events to go to. Street art is brilliant. Getting around the city is easy. Free trams or just walk to so many things. There are wonderful furniture and design stores. Go on a tour of the laneways. Visit Chadstone to see incredible array of designer shops. Gucci, Prada, Chanel, Moncler, Balenciaga...and so many more . Do your homework on where to have a good breakfast. I like Top Paddock in Richmond, Proud Mary in Collingwood and Bentwood in Fitzroy. Don’t miss going to La Lune bakery in Fitzroy. Line up for Chin Chin in Flinders Lane for Asian fusion food. Mind blowing Japanese at Kisume just down the road has the nicest Japanese in a super slick but stylish setting. Elba on Russell St for excellent drinks and sharing plates. It’s often free at the National Gallery of Victoria. A definite must see. Sit out in their garden and chill. The best fun...footy at the MCG!! Do it.
Booked a Great Ocean drive tour on a 24 passenger mini-bus and the coach was tight - wish we had booked a seat on a full size coach. Great city for a week long visit. Especially enjoyed Queen Victoria market and the botanical gardens.
Great public transport to all places you might want to visit. Went to visit the Shrine. Of Remembrance, Victoria Market & St Kilda Rd. Easy on the tram. Plenty of food choices in Little. Bourke St. Chinatown area.
Lygon Street is fantastic so many beautiful places to eat! The city is very interesting The Old Melbourne Gaol was fantastic Queen Victoria Markets sensational Riding the trams was fun
Very easy to get around. Loved the great restaurants and bars. Old Melbourne Gail was very interesting. Victoria markets fabulous. Brunswick Street really quirky & interesting. Great Vego restaurant off of Brunswick street called Transformer??
Horsham
The room was very spacious and comfortable . Bed was comfy. The ensuite was also a good size and very clean. The parking bays were all large enough to take a med/large 4WD without being really close to the car parked next to it. Great amenities - nice pool and games room. Property across the road from May Park which has a playground for the kids and walking distance to petrol station and McDonalds and Victoria Hotel (next door). Even though on main road, there was not any road noise. Great place to stay for either families or couples.
Yanakie
I think I rarely stayed in a B&B as gorgeous as Olivi. Karen and Marty are incredibly nice and full of amazing advice and suggestions for places to see and things to do not only around Wilson's Prom, but in Victoria and South Australia in general as they have traveled around the country a lot. The tour around their small farm was brilliant and the breakfast simply delicious! I really could not recommend a place more and if you stay with them pet Martha (their super sweet dog) for me!
Horsham
We had intended driving further but decided to stop overnight , saw this on the web site and thought it would be prefect for o/n stay and it was . Spacious cabin, comfortable bed, plenty of towels and a great heater in the bathroom ( it was a cold night ) Was actually quite as overnight and in the morning which surprised us with the location and access to the highway. Asked about somewhere to have a nice evening meal and The Victoria Hotel was recommended, had a delicious meal:)
Jasper Hotel is in a great location, about a minute walk from the Queen Victoria Market tram stop. The bed and pillows were comfortable, and the room maintained a good temperature even while cold outside. Wifi speeds seem fine, did not experience slowness that I have at other hotels. The water temperature was sufficiently hot, no issues with water pressure and the shower was spacious. I found the staff to be friendly and accommodating.
Halls Gap
Cockatoo Cabin is a rustic timber home which is a great as a base for exploring the Grampians region. It's a small partly renovated cabin with a modern bathroom. The cockatoos arrived on the verandah within 2 minutes of parking our car there! And they're very friendly. Plus we found a kangaroo in the front garden when returning one evening. This is the best area in Victoria for seeing Australian wildlife roaming free.
Sorrento
The room was amazingly spacious and clean with all the essentials we needed for an overnight stay. Kettle toaster microwave crockery and cutlery. Spacious bathroom and seperate toilet. Room upgrade from booking.com was an advantage. Highly recommend this accomodation. We have been on the road for over a week now staying in various motels in NSW, South Australia and Victoria. This was with no doubt the best
An excellent location as it was in the centre of the city of Ballarat, Victoria, Australia. Within a short, accessible walk to all the shops, restaurants, churches, public transport, etc. Roomy, open room with a large, screen television, and a well stocked mini bar of food, drinks/alcohol. Aircon. worked well. Basic refreshments provided. Helpful, and very friendly staff.
Wodonga
We stay and many Quest Hotels around NSW and Victoria and this one in Wodonga is the "Jewel in the Crown". Best Quest we know. Rooms are large, A/C works very well ( we were there in a heatwave), free fast wi-fi, very pleasant staff. Adjacent Huon Hill Bistro a significant bonus. Parking spacious. Gym/Pool Laundry extras found at few Quests.
The apartment is in great safe location. The hotel is just across the Victoria police HQ office. The apartment also offers kitchen cutlery to make food on our own. The apartment have a beautiful city view and is very quiet and calm. The staff is also helpful they provided complimentary tea, sugar and coffee packs. The beds are very comfy.
Benalla
We had a wonderful 2 night stay in this beautiful cosy Victorian era home. Location is perfect for walking into town to see all the beautiful murals from artists from Australia and international. Continental breakfast was included along with a surprise bottle of wine with cheeses and crackers. Very relaxing and worth booking.
West Melbourne, Melbourne
The apartment is nice, and reasonably clean. The location is okay, but a bit of a walk to get anywhere, other than the Queen Victoria Markets. Reception is fine, but the reception people are a little difficult to understand. Reception seems unattended a lot. The apartments seem a little bigger in the photos.
Marysville
Simply the best accomodation in Victoria. It was our second time there and it was amazing again, every detail is perfect and I sometimes wished I could live in the manor! We also went for a couple massage and enjoyed it a lot. If I come back to Australia, I would make sure to go to the manor!
Melbourne
Complete amenities. Washing machine came with dryer so laundry was a breeze. Bathroom also had shower gel and shampoo so you don't have to bring your own. The location was also good, walking to Queen Victoria Market, malls and the main city strip was easy.
Warrnambool
This was the last night of a seven day road trip along coastal Victoria and South Australia. It was hands down the best accommodation on our trip. Excellent location, professional and friendly staff, huge well appointed rooms. Lockup garage.
The building is a beautiful old Victorian, the room was immaculate and the staff could not have been more friendly, welcoming, or helpful. I would recommend this boutique hotel to anyone who appreciates a genuineexperience. Thank you, Mandy!
Daylesford
Great location. Lovely town. Ziggy our host was very welcoming and a lovely man. He made us feel very at home. The hotel had beautiful old world Victorian charm. We enjoyed using drawing the room as we sipped on a glass of red wine.
The hotel is centrally located in the heart of Melbourne CBD near Flagstaff Gardens. It is a short walk to Melbourne Central, the Queen Victoria Market, and Docklands. The hotel is clean and comfortable, and good value for money.
Horsham
We stay at this Motel when we travel from Victoria to South Australia. For us it's half way and we always get a good nights sleep and a decent breakfast. We can recommend it to any travelers just wanting a room for the night.
I love that the hotel has conserved the Victorian style of architecture and interior design, really adds to the atmosphere during our stay. The room was excellent too, clean and comfortable. Overall a great experience.
Melbourne
Near Queen Victoria Market and commuting is easy as the tram stop is nearby. Hotel is within the free tram zone so commuting within the city is free. Eateries are nearby too.
